The neglect of faith formation with children in the home is widespread among Christian parents.  The research question asked was, 'if Christian parents are equipped by their minister for leading their children in family worship, will they become more confident, competent, and committed as their children's spiritual leaders?' The model that is identified is described as a 'hospitable, eschatological welcome.' The five pericopes studied contain both examples and teaching from the earthly ministry of Jesus, demonstrating the alignment that existed between his words and actions on this subject. In particular, the pericopes center around Jesus' controversial ministry to the sinners and tax collectors, the criticism he received from the Pharisees, and his commission to the disciples. In addition, table fellowship, as an element of the oriental hospitality, is explored as the cultural context for that which was occurring in the key passages of study. The history of God's salvation plan is the theological backdrop, beginning with God's heart for the stranger in the Old Testament and ending with a look at the cross as the most powerful example of the hospitality of God toward man. It reviews biblical foundations for servant leadership and dimensions of its contextualization among the Isaan. It investigates and defends the thesis that apprenticeship is an appropriate and effective methods for developing servant leaders in Isaan. Effectiveness is evaluated through action research, applied to the leadership training program of LIFE. Qualitative materials compliment quantitative analysis for a mixed method analysis. The training approach produced new leaders. Preaching every Sunday is a demanding job for the pastor of a local church. Therefore, a pastor must do his best to preach in order to effect a change in his audience for God's glory. One concern of a pastor is to know how to use a main idea in his preaching. This thesis will examine the use of a main idea in twenty sermons that exemplify the preaching of John Han Heum Oak. Various kinds of methods may be incorporated for preaching effectively. One of them is to use a main idea. The purpose of preaching is not merely to pass on useful information, but to motivate a change in a person to live his or her life for God. This thesis states that multimedia presentations will be useful for reaching the 'electronic generations' in the post-literate world.  This project presented the same homily to four different university groups.  Two groups heard the homily and saw a simultaneous video presentation.  The other two heard only the oral/aural presentation.  The participants answered questionnaires, and two groups participated in focus group discussions.  Quantitative results were neutral, with a slight leaning in support of the thesis.
