Theological and biblical foundations based on the spirituality of Ignatius of Loyola in the context of his Spiritual exercises will be prioritized with complementary reading from the classic spiritual texts of three selected mystics: Hildegard of Bingen, Bernard of Clairvaux, and Julian of Norwich. Consumer culture tempts Christians to worship an idolatrous world of stuff. The preacher is called to speak a word of hope and offer strategies to face this modern giant.This project defines consumer culture, its affects on the health, environment, and debt load. Homiletical strategies are identified to expose its temptations then 'counter-script,' providing the listener biblical and theological resources to imagine a different way of spending time and resources. It reviews three congregations' attempts at confronting consumer temptations from the pulpit. The hypotheses was that through appropriating tools and techniques from two secular theories - Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Cognitive Therapy - people of hope, especially those who have lost a spouse of a number of years, could learn to live again, laugh again, and love again with the faith and hope that their separation is a temporary one, not a permanent one. The model was a blended pre-post Functional Change and Theological Appropriation of a Secular Theory approach. This project taught an approach to couple prayer utilizing the communication skills previously learned in Couple Communication I combined with the Prayer of Examen as a means of reducing defensiveness in couples as they share and pray together about their growing awareness of God. Twelve Christian married couples participated in a twelve week program involving group sessions and homework. This study measured whether there was an increase in marital satisfaction, spiritual well-being and self differentiation. The variables measured were: recall, communication, attention, stimulation of thought and emotion, persuasion, and enjoyment.  Groups of students saw either a multimedia presentation or a slide presentation and were compared to a control group, which saw no visual elements.  The multimedia group outperformed the control group, while the slide group performed oppositely. The research delineates the main modalities of para-church organizations including its mission statement, foundations, goals, target groups, programs, projects, management of resources, leadership structure, etc.  Volunteers and fund-raising activities are considered equally important and elaborated in separate chapters.  The research also lists humanitarian programs, projects and agape practical experiences in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, and Kosovo. The thesis of this paper is that this dormant potential may be fanned to life through contextualized missionary mediation, implementing a carefully conceited Experiential Missions Training (EMT) process, designed to integrate cross-cultural missions projects and inter-congregational teams with the benefits of Experiential Learning Theory (ELT).  The author draws out the principles of Experiential Missions Training through a case study of his own documented experiences of training teams of French believers from local churches in Lyon, France on missions ventures to the Kursk State University in western Russia. An effort was made to avoid asking the questions in ways that would lead to the development of a sending agency that did not fit the context of Honduran Baptist mission efforts.  If Honduran Baptists are to fulfill the Great Commission in a global manner, they must have a sending agency that reflects their culture and values instead of one that is copied from another culture.  The pastors were chosen because of their experience in missions or because they had demonstrated a strong interest in learning as much. The result was a sending agency that was designed by and for Honduran Baptists. Negative attitudes toward sin and repentance discourage believers from experiencing personal revival. As a result, confession of sin seems to be common while repentance is rare.
