Like many churches today, it is in danger of becoming internally focused. Because the church faces new challenges in an ever increasing post-modern culture, the project director attempted to begin a conversation about the positive impact on evangelism that an externally focused church can have. To begin this conversation, the project director taught a six-session seminar to twelve adult leaders of Seminary Baptist Church and preached a four-sermon series. First, the author proved that the Christocentric hermeneutic was passed down from Jesus and the Apostles directly down to the modern day preacher. Second, the author walked through selected texts from different genres of the OT to in order to buttress his thesis. The results of the project were successful. His congregation is made up of soldiers who are twenty to twenty-two and do not like the army life.  However, the soldiers encounter religions by choice in the military service.  Many soldiers come into contact with Christianity.  The author has thought about what these young soldiers want in their own spiritual lives and how the military church can help them. The author therefore asked the following questions regarding military mission in the light of pastoral care: (1) What is the meaning of military service for men, and what is the meaning of the period of military service in the life cycle?  (2) What is the soldiers' life before enrollment in military service, and what do they think of their lives after their service is completed? The author believes that these generations have been lured away from prophetic ministry and enticed by negative cultural influences.  The cultural influence that is having significant impact is the American culture of consumerism which has appeared in the church as prosperity preaching.  The author interviewed and surveyed the X and Y generations, researched biblical prophets and examined cultural influences. Society has mis-judged them and abandoned them in the system.  Leaders in the church, school, local government and even parents have often failed to nurture seeds once rooted, and now disconnected from the soul.  Their hearts are saddened, spirit is broken, due to rejection and abandonment. As the Chairperson of its Order, the author examined the question: how can the Order of Elders be a viable body which will increase the number of elders in its activities and nurture them spiritually?  First the author explores the history of peer accountability and the creation of the Order of Elders based on the Wesleyan tradition and theology/doctrine.  Then the author presents a case study from the author's own experiences.
