The Internet fellowship shared prayer, Bible reading, homilies, confession, intercession, and personal triumphs and defeats. The group split into two about halfway through its ten-year existence, but the successor groups care about one another and share the on-line culture described above. Is this a church in cyberspace? The author tests the shape and interactions of the Internet group against several definitions of church and concludes that while they are not an Internet church, the groups serve their members as do pietistic groups, such as Wesleyan societies, within the larger church. The remaining six hundred go largely unconsidered. But 2 Timothy 3:16 implies that all the laws are profitable for Christians. This project thus introduces the BETA method-a theocentric, non-legalistic approach to the laws of the Pentateuch by which preachers can interpret and proclaim the laws in a Christian way. This method recognizes the 'transcendent perpetuity' of Old Testament law and is consistent with the three uses of the law as promoted by historic Reformed theology. The project also introduces the legal collections in Exodus, including the Decalogue, the Book of the Covenant, and the tabernacle-priesthood regulations, seeking to pay careful attention to their narrative contexts and historical-cultural backgrounds. These laws have their foundation in grace; they also have their fulfillment in grace."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Southern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["55f1694e-f3f1-43ea-8ca9-da9a2899defe"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129720085020672,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:20:11.397Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:04:55Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:15:49Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"ac64590d-77b2-4af0-a176-d338a8f47436","accessControl_ssim":["aede3936-5b39-405d-9ba3-5e1bfe37886c"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Living into the United Methodist way: finding our way back into connection"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:04:52Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:06:45Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["0289512e-1bf8-4954-9923-5b01dcfe2228"],"hasLease_ssim":["14df49eb-c7ea-4fae-9ff4-1159bd1b9ae6"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lewis A Parks"],"year_tesim":["2009"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Many good and varied ministries were taking place, but none were connected with each other, and most were not based upon the vision of the annual conference. The author needed to find a way to network leaders, ministries and local churches. The bishop and extended cabinet determined that the Leadership3 Incubator process was to be implemented as a spiritual and leadership development tool. The author was invited to participate in an incubator with the bishop and his appointive cabinet. Part of that process was to create a ministry action plan appropriate for the author's work. She decided to develop a cohesive Connectional Ministries Council by leading an incubator group with the executive team, the connectional ministries conference staff, the conference lay leader, a district superintendent and the bishop's administrative assistant. This project paper rehearses the connecting lessons from the past, especially from the early days of John Wesley, and offers ways to adapt them for current times. She shares the process that the incubator went through, the lessons learned, and a model to teach other conference groups how to develop relationships and begin to network together in a time of deliberate growth and planning."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791125674066444289,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:15:52.812Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":355,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
