Participants completed a full one-day retreat which included lectures, participative exercises, spiritual disciplines such as formational prayer, and Lectio Divina. Pre and post tests were given to measure the results. The results of the data revealed increased movement in the participants' self-esteem. Further positive measurement evidenced a desire for Christian fellowship and a deeper relationship with God. The curriculum for the weekend highlighted the practice of the devotional leaders of the church who are pioneers in spiritual formation. The project director used multiple methods to train these teenagers in the disciplines. During the eight sessions of the equipping retreat, the teenagers experienced spiritual disciplines. Well prepared joint worship services and ministries could be implemented to bridge the gaps. Joint worship services with different interpretation methodologies were tested and two joint ministries were conducted. Interviews and questionnaires were used as evaluation mechanisms. Joint worship services could be able to achieve the purpose in conjunction with effective joint ministries. The methods employed multi-sensory learning techniques in the context of spiritual disciplines. The project measured affective changes in participants based on new spiritual discipline practices. Congregational health demonstrated by longer tenures of church leaders and conflict with less intensity and better resolution has occurred as leaders understand and apply systems thinking, recognize the problems and issues in systems, and remain differentiated in difficult situations. The project accomplished these goals. The focus of the project is creating and implementing an assimilation process that encourages participants' faith in Christ, membership in Bear Valley Church, active participation in a Bible study, and the use of their gifts, talents, and personalities in expressing their faith. To prepare for the project the author read the appropriate literature and enlisted a leadership team. Multiple individuals participated in the assimilation classes.
