The contextual nature of each sermon was utilized as a basis for addressing the spiritual needs of those within the emerging culture. In a series of six sermons, the project leader dealt exegetically with the Acts texts and made applications to postmodern traits. Concurrent to the project leader's preaching, a focus group met for ten weeks to explore postmodernity and to assimilate a training manual. Through research, ten of the most prevalent crises encountered were identified. For each crisis, situations were analyzed to determine successful pulpit approaches that have proven beneficial to particular pastors in jeopardizing situations. This research found a strong correlation between preaching God's Word and weathering the storms of ministry. project was to enhance the project director's preaching skills through the use of a preaching method at First Baptist Church, Milton, Florida. This project involved both research and ministry in following a skills-enhancement model. Homiletical research was done primarily in one specific preaching approach. From this research, unique features related to this project director preached a series of sermons utilizing this preaching method, demonstrating increased knowledge and skill development in preaching. The first project ministry goal was to research the field of grief ministry in order to equip selected members of Hamilton Baptist Church to minister to persons grieving the death of a loved one. The second project ministry goal was to develop a workshop to train selected members to minister to persons grieving the death of a loved one. The third project ministry goal was to equip the selected members to minister to persons grieving the death of a loved one. The tentative project methodology included lectures, PowerPoint presentations, videotapes, music, case-studies, role-plays, and hands-on activities. Research from an annotated bibliography provided the resources for development of lesson plans in order to equip the selected group. The equipping included sessions that both explored and defined the concept of relationship-driven ministry. Deacons selected were asked to participate in three sessions equaling seven hours. These sessions included study of both Old and New Testament passages of Scripture supporting the concept of relationship-driven ministry.
