Traditional American blues melodies in the public domain offered a rich source of musical accompaniment for Peruvian worship songs. A congregation in Tarapoto, Peru, participated in a series of six lyric writing workshops using an action research model. Group poetry writing methods based on the work of Kenneth Koch were implemented. Elements of the lament psalms were incorporated into each workshop song. Examples abound in the Old Testament where God's people and messengers are exhorted to declare tot he nations with joyful song and testimony what the Lord God Almighty has done. In the New Testament, the angels who brought the Good News to the shepherds, the Lord Jesus Christ himself and the apostles furnish practical illustrations of joyful exuberance in proclaiming the gospel. But there seems to be a dearth of recipients and custodians of the Good News who are eager to go out and share the gospel with joyful passion powered by the joy of the Lord. This project embarked on recruiting and motivationally training believers from churches in USA to become confident and joyful participant sharers of the Good News. The research proves Whitefield's doctrinal preaching content was a primary factor for why God used him so mightily in the Great Awakening era and beyond contrary to common misinterpretations for his success. A six-week preaching series presented the six principles to our church and included evaluative surveys analyzed in this project. The project included a weekend retreat, the implementation of a lay ministry preaching team, a four-week sermon series, and a test group evaluation. The author explored how reclaiming the model of prayer found in the Psalms and its undergirding theology may offer a healthier model of prayer. Lectio Divina was introduced as a vehicle to encourage retreat participants to write their own poem/prayers. A group of eight rural pastors participated in a series of four one-hour workshops and a one-hour discussion session. The director was able to assess the value of the praxis through questionnaires and a discussion forum. The project director studied key resources in order to determine the essential elements of an evangelistic preaching model and established a standard of research. The project director submitted the essential elements and the standard of research for review to experts in evangelistic preaching. Following the identification of the essential elements of an evangelistic preaching model, the project director developed four sermons based on the evangelistic preaching model. The project director then preached the sermons to the congregation of The Beginnings Church.
