First, the project director researched existing intercultural church-planting and church-growth models in three North American metropolitan areas. Second, the project director researched three intercultural churches in metro Atlanta, where SIF meets. Along with an analysis of area demographics, the director presented these findings to a selected group of church leaders for approval. Data from local and state agencies was valuable in assessing the needs of single-mother families in crisis. The project director did careful research in data gathering, survey methods, and the use of questionnaires. The project demonstrated that one-on-one mentoring relationship using electronic means is an effective way to create learning which leads to the knowledge and practice of the spiritual disciplines. Seven two-person teams composed of church officers carried the consecrated elements directly to the shut-ins each Communion Sunday. In this way, we not only hoped to give our recipients the joy of worship and visitation but also the consolation of knowing they are cared for by their church. How do pastors build up God-centered disciples today? Moving away from self-centeredness toward God-centeredness is the most important goal of this ministry project. A God-centeredness curriculum was designed and implemented in a local church context. The project involved a select group in a deepening process of self-exploration, meditation on God's Word, and contemplative commitment to God's way.
