To accomplish this purpose, the project director first researched the field of evangelism to identify personal evangelism skills. From his research, he then produced an annotated bibliography and report on personal evangelism skills. Next, the project director researched curriculum writing. He then developed a curriculum that incorporated the personal evangelism skills discovered in research. Finally, the project director equipped eighteen selected adults in a one-day, personal evangelism training workshop. The personal evangelism skills the participants acquired taught them how to adopt a new mindset, live and attractive life, and share the message conversationally. These skills will help the participants reach the increasingly post-Christian and fast-growing population of unchurched people of Forney. Expert evaluators in evangelism and curriculum design validated multiple aspects of the project to ensure accuracy and effectiveness."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5e492469-490e-44a3-90c1-17560a603bc2"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799718374009208832,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:33:10.057Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:57:13Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:27:16Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"8ca5878f-7918-433f-a699-65cbf58d38f7","accessControl_ssim":["d1e4501d-9a0d-4e8e-8790-7b57ae8fea4f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Developing a revitalization Strategy for Bethel Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove, Alabama"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:57:11Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:15:19Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["90dc86bd-89aa-47f2-b8fe-48bf7b25db55"],"hasLease_ssim":["24cc83fd-9526-468c-b4b6-bb81958e63a5"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Jake Roudkovski Ph.D."],"year_tesim":["2022"],"location_tesim":["Alabama"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. The project director gathered demographic data for the city of Pleasant Grove, Alabama, as well as a three-mile ring surrounding the church. Additionally, the project director analyzed internal church data and surveyed the congregation to augment his research. The community and church data helped the project director produce a profile of the trends in the community and congregation. The project director researched church revitalization models and methods, interviewed pastors involved in revitalization, and read extensively on the subject of revitalization. This investigation produced a report of best practices and potential steps toward revitalization. A team of strategic leaders in the church served as the Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) and the project director led this team through a process to develop the strategy for revitalization. Various groups in the church received the presentation of the revitalization strategy and their input produced a final version of the presentation to be presented to the church body. The project director along with the SRT presented the proposed strategy to the congregation for approval. The church unanimously approved the strategy in a business meeting called for December 1, 2021."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5e492469-490e-44a3-90c1-17560a603bc2"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799718004083130368,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:27:17.268Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:57:12Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:52:52Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"8b7f0030-cc4e-4f5c-9c6b-9cc275ffa2ee","accessControl_ssim":["751c2970-1bf1-4a65-8a77-7ecdef928a1e"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Church Revitalization Strategy for Morgan Chapel Baptist Church, Sturgis, Mississippi"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:57:11Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:13:17Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["876b743e-2e8f-427d-874d-9b57f350c57b"],"hasLease_ssim":["91884239-809a-4711-979d-4a927ce1cbb6"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Adam Hughes Ph.D."],"year_tesim":["2022"],"location_tesim":["Mississippi"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Driven by low birth rate, worldwide population aging is expected to accelerate in the future. Churches are also faced with a crisis in which the number of children and the younger generation going to church is falling and growth stalled. Strengthening the senior ministry, which is demanded by the world we live in today, is a mission Churches must take upon themselves and a way to change this crisis into an opportunity. The project director first conducted extensive research on materials related to senior ministry and based on vigorously researched theories, set specific directions for the senior ministry of a church to take. Then, through research and analysis of the unique environment of Atlanta Bethany United Methodist Church, the project director carried out the process of developing an effective senior ministry strategy. The strategy was developed through a process of establishing a strategy development team within the Church and, through four meetings, building common understanding and gathering opinions, and conducting surveys. The finalized strategy was presented to the Church’s official committee and received approval. The outcomes of each state were sent three times to outside specialists, and the strategy was completed after making revisions based on their assessments. In this process, it was assessed that the ministerial goal of developing a senior ministry strategy as well as personal career development goal of enhancing knowledge of senior ministry and improving strategy development skills were sufficiently achieved. It is hoped that the developed senior ministry strategy is effectively practiced at Atlanta Bethany United Methodist Church and provides much help the Church and its congregation."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5e492469-490e-44a3-90c1-17560a603bc2"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799716643740319744,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:05:39.944Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:56:15Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:34:09Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"8ee5f89b-0634-49a8-9a31-d3508e69d9aa","accessControl_ssim":["20cf5332-3a5e-4039-91ea-f2651b8e481e"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Selected case studies in how to move Rhea's Mill Baptist Church from plateaued to growing"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:56:14Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:19:07Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["b12aebb6-511e-44fe-93e4-6959dd6f21be"],"hasLease_ssim":["cc5388ef-36cd-4778-86d2-d9a15a7832f7"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Bruce B. This is followed by an explanation of why qualitative case study research was used to evaluate two churches that successfully moved from plateaued to growing. The case-studies demonstrated that there is a link between giving attention to issues associated with space, small groups, and focus and a church successfully moving from plateaued to growing. The dissertation concludes with applications that will aid in helping Rhea’s Mill Church move from its current plateau to growing once again."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130602044391424,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:34:12.499Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:56:13Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:41:14Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d9defc91-b81b-4672-9691-5d67a25c4938","accessControl_ssim":["06ca8345-82d7-4a9a-93d2-7cab33922792"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Relationships between personality types and sin tendencies of young adult Christians."],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:56:07Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:21:43Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["a10c3d63-7d62-4545-b8c0-01b56d89c29c"],"hasLease_ssim":["3a9b9520-9f2d-44de-887e-b306eac97f5c"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Andi Thacker Ph.D.","M. This project sought to broaden awareness of such instinctive patterns byidentifying relationships between sin tendencies and personality types. Specifically, itexplored sin patterns in relation to each of the eight preferences of the Myers-BriggsType Indicator: introversion, extraversion, sensing, intuition, thinking, feeling, judging, and perceiving. All subjects had a 4-year college degree, were under the age of 35, and werebelievers in Jesus Christ who were actively involved in Christian community. The studytook a mixed method research approach and collected both quantitative and qualitativedata. It began with a descriptive survey which yielded fifty-three usable responses.Following the survey, the researcher conducted in-depth interviews with seven of therespondents in order to gain deeper insight regarding the impact their personalitypreferences had on their patterns of behavior. When considered in combination, the quantitative and qualitative resultsverified strong relationships between six of the eight preferences and specific sintendencies. While the hypothesis regarding the remaining two preferences was notconfirmed, the interview results suggested relationships between slightly different sintendencies and these preferences. These hurts motivate even Christians to develop unhealthymethods of repairing ourselves, independent of God. These unhealthy methods, which do not resolve the hurt, leave us living in a state of quiet despair and below a state offlourishing. Furthermore, almost all of us base our sense of identity on temporary things, including past hurts, which leave us vulnerable to anxiety. Currently, the culture in theUnited States has moved (and continues to do so) away from basic Christianity, particularly in family life where core beliefs are formed. The author is developing a Christian education program where students learn the key biblical principles of maturing in Christ, being married, and raising a family. The program has three parts: individual discipleship, marriage, and parenting. This research evaluated the effectiveness of the individual discipleship portion of this Christian education program and its contribution to the spiritual development among participants at selected area churches. This study utilized a mixed-method approach. Participants in the program participated in a survey (pre- and post-class). Selected individuals were part of focus groups. I anticipated that by participating in the program students would grow in their spiritual development through examining their life story, would have an improved understanding of their identity in Christ, and would exhibit a positive change in their expected sense of peace. As students examined their life story in light of God’s Holy Word, they would most assuredly find places where false identities had been errantly believed as truth. It was expected that when students confronted these misbeliefs and embraced God’s truth about their identity, they would experience a greater sense of peace. This new state would enable the individual to flourish more fully."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130915964977152,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:39:11.877Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:55:46Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:39:38Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"ca86f02b-1a7f-4b85-94e7-445db741d8d6","accessControl_ssim":["8c445d6a-f34c-4ea9-bd37-fb1c4f33058e"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["What Selected Pastors Identify As Key Leadership Qualities For Diversifying Suburban, Ethnically Homogeneous, Minority-Led"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:55:45Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:57:08Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["7fb3d480-5060-4f6b-bc8d-0f39008d0c3c"],"hasLease_ssim":["98d41f18-e11e-4b8d-83f6-1028393e938a"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Robert J. Suburban, homogeneous,minority-led churches are an oasis and a safe-haven for ethnic minorities who relocatefrom urban centers. Yet, as outposts of Christ’s kingdom, these churches are charged withthe responsibility of reaching across ethnic lines to make disciples of all nationsbeginning with the neighborhood in which the congregation worships. The assumptionthat leading a homogeneous congregation to diversify is the same regardless of thechurch’s location and the ethnicity of its pastor ignores the long history of race relationsin America. Minority pastors who lead suburban, ethnically homogeneous churches needkey leadership qualities to diversify their congregations.Through semi-structured interviews with nine African American pastors fromdifferent denominations and different regions of the United States, this qualitative studyconcluded that biblical conviction, cultural competence, conflict resolution skill, andemotional intelligence are key leadership qualities necessary for diversifying suburban, ethnically homogeneous, minority-led congregations. This dissertation is divided into five sections. The first section provides arationale for this study and explains the significance of the project given the novelty ofthe topic and the lack of specific research on the topic. The second section discusses therelevant literature concerning biblical conviction, cultural competence, conflict resolutionskill, and emotional intelligence. The third section describes the research procedure, offers a justification for using in-depth interviews as the preferred research method, andaddresses the limitations of the study. The fourth section of this dissertation presents theresults from the interviews which substantiate and confirm the project’s hypotheses. Thelast section gives implications for ministry, shares the delimitations of the study, andmakes recommendations for future research."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130947051061248,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:39:41.523Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"D.Min.
