My project utilized the Preaching Skills Enhancement Model found in the DMin Handbook at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. The project was completed in three phases: research, writing, and preaching. During the first phase of the project, I researched biblical leadership concepts to identify best practices. The research phase produced an annotated bibliography of selected works in the field of leadership and an executive summary of selected biblical leadership concepts. Dr. Ray Van Neste evaluated both the annotated bibliography and the executive summary. During the second phase of the project, I developed a five-part sermon series to teach on God’s design for leadership. During the final phase, I preached the sermon series at Summertown Baptist Church, Summertown, Tennessee. Two expert preaching evaluators evaluated the sermon series. Additionally, congregational feedback was received to demonstrate the effectiveness of the sermon series to inspire Tennessee Baptists to pursue ongoing leader development."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["kstamant@nobts.edu"],"_version_":1834744544177946624,"timestamp":"2025-06-12T17:19:08.949Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2025-06-12T16:38:41Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2025-06-12T16:38:43Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"29ecf14f-5bac-46f7-a840-5b454ebf3718","accessControl_ssim":["34396639-06f8-4467-81b2-33198e73a57a"],"depositor_ssim":["kstamant@nobts.edu"],"depositor_tesim":["kstamant@nobts.edu"],"title_tesim":["Enhancing Text-Driven Preaching Skills Using a Christiconic Hermeneutic to Increase Evangelistic Awareness in Selected Members at Central Baptist Church, Marion, Ohio"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2025-06-12T16:38:41Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2025-06-12T16:38:41Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["edafcb8e-b0c5-4569-8324-4d30a3c86ce8"],"hasLease_ssim":["6f5c89bc-6151-4f00-875f-9fa345e26d00"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["DMin"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Dr. W. Using a mixed methods approach of in-depth interviews, small group interviews, and document analysis, the project presents data from nine pastors and twelve young adults, along with analysis from Mosaic Young Adult Initiative documents. The findings suggest formational and missional value\r\nof a place-based church collaboration in the spiritual lives of young adults. Values and practices are identified for working with young adults, strengthening church culture, and positively influencing the community. Further, the project analysis highlights possibilities for collective impact and collective formation through a place-based church collaboration, informed by a\r\nspatial-ecclesial imagination. Such a theological vision compels churches to see and work beyond their own boundaries for broader city-wide influence and deeper discipleship of young adults. This research demonstrates the benefits of a place-based approach to church partnerships, spiritual formation, and missional engagement. It also suggests prospects for complementary strategies to church planting through place-based hub planting. Lastly, it illustrates how place-based church networks may serve as mentoring ecosystems for young adult faith formation in the context of city-wide collective impact.\r\n\r\nKeywords: church, space, place, young adults, collective impact, collective formation, spatial ecclesial imagination"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["dminadmin@tiu.edu"],"_version_":1834106209110589440,"timestamp":"2025-06-05T16:13:05.190Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2025-05-16T21:53:32Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2025-05-16T21:53:34Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"9e8f7857-c9e9-4b22-a650-2b7a917c7754","accessControl_ssim":["bdc02cd1-34d1-48d4-a961-508776a1602c"],"depositor_ssim":["gnorrislane@gmail.com"],"depositor_tesim":["gnorrislane@gmail.com"],"title_tesim":["Beyond Heaven and Hell: Is There a Pastorally Sensitive Way for Progressive Christian Collegiate Ministries in the UKirk Network to Do Evangelism?"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2025-05-16T21:53:31Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2025-05-16T21:53:31Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["b0e6b6c3-2897-423c-bb07-3ebbc704865d"],"hasLease_ssim":["ad2351ba-a3e9-4988-a03b-7aab06c146a2"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["2025"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Drawing upon biblical theology, the practices of the early church, the experience and practice of 18 churches and prayer ministries notable for their example and influence, the study examines principles for developing sustained, faith-filled prayer ministry. There has been decline in prayer among American Christians due to distractions, theological misconceptions, and diminished expectancy, and these trends undermine the transformative power of the American Church. Through a review of Scripture, early Church Fathers, and contemporary best practices, the project emphasizes the indispensable role of prayer in individual and corporate life. The work proposes a biblically grounded and practically applicable model of prayer ministry tailored for evangelical and charismatic churches, incorporating structured teaching, consistent practice, and especially leadership example. Data from the author’s home church Family Christian Center of Munster, IN, including prayer meeting participation and documented answered prayers, demonstrates the effectiveness of such a model. Ultimately, this project advocates for the pastoral leadership to champion a culture of expectant prayer, positioning the Church as a prophetic community that partners with God in shaping history through intercession."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["dminadmin@tiu.edu"],"_version_":1832296904363343872,"timestamp":"2025-05-16T16:54:57.722Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2025-05-16T14:42:51Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2025-05-17T16:03:21Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"cd61803d-4b70-4c11-bd5e-b14c23c5cbda","accessControl_ssim":["aca5a078-b5b7-430e-b5cd-7b54efea0d24"],"hasRelatedMediaFragment_ssim":["c0459594-7495-41c8-94ec-7958d2b5a2fd"],"hasRelatedImage_ssim":["c0459594-7495-41c8-94ec-7958d2b5a2fd"],"depositor_ssim":["jmiller@pts.edu"],"depositor_tesim":["jmiller@pts.edu"],"title_tesim":["Altered Calls: Short Stories and Theological Meditations"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2025-05-16T14:42:50Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2025-05-17T16:03:11Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["c94a48cc-117c-4104-b23f-6d1381d050bb"],"hasLease_ssim":["8972f0b2-4084-4b7f-8671-29f409d971ae"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["D.Min."],"discipline_tesim":["Creative Writing and Public Theology"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Liberty Ferda","Derek Alan Woodard-Lehman"],"year_tesim":["2025"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. This project explores shared ministry—where congregations partner under one leader—as a potential solution. Theologically, it is grounded in Paul's Philippians dubitatio (1:18-26), where he grapples with the choice between life and death, along with concepts like the priesthood of all believers and the cruciform nature of ministry. It frames shared ministry as \"choosing life\" for struggling congregations. Research reveals benefits and challenges, including collaboration, resource-sharing, increased workload, and resistance to change. Ultimately, the study suggests shared ministry, with clear vision and trust, can offer renewal and growth.\r\n"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC-EDU/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/downloads/65ff4ef5-5c5c-4123-a200-d7153ae45d3d?file=thumbnail","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_ids_ssim":["65ff4ef5-5c5c-4123-a200-d7153ae45d3d"],"file_set_ids_ssim":["65ff4ef5-5c5c-4123-a200-d7153ae45d3d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["kjung@pts.edu"],"_version_":1832240562188582912,"timestamp":"2025-05-16T01:59:25.636Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2025-05-15T19:18:36Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2025-05-15T19:21:06Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"5ba038bd-f515-47d7-84d4-ac135c5a4ebe","accessControl_ssim":["75f6b986-3315-4732-a0b3-7aeed80ac16b"],"hasRelatedMediaFragment_ssim":["e2ccf563-4bf8-45b4-8ab0-8bec0ccb51c7"],"hasRelatedImage_ssim":["e2ccf563-4bf8-45b4-8ab0-8bec0ccb51c7"],"depositor_ssim":["atennant58@gmail.com"],"depositor_tesim":["atennant58@gmail.com"],"title_tesim":["\"Table Talks: Having Tough Conversations in the Local Church\" (Abstract)"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2025-05-15T19:18:35Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2025-05-15T19:20:58Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["2747b6be-4e7f-46c4-993d-760a64a2f75f"],"hasLease_ssim":["60aaad75-3677-41f2-87b8-6d51c526a8b3"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"format_tesim":["PDF"],"additional_rights_info_tesim":["N/A"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"discipline_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry Risking Faithfully"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Rev. This project was done over three sessions. Each session focused around the topic of racism, and how this could be done in a predominately white church and community. The participants learned about how much racism shaped the local communities, and due to this history and what they learned in each session they are eager to continue as a group to learn more, and turn what they have learned into further ministry to combat racism within the surrounding communities. \r\n\r\n"],"license_tesim":["https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"rights_notes_tesim":["N/A"],"access_right_tesim":["N/A"],"identifier_tesim":["N/A"],"related_url_tesim":["N/A"],"bibliographic_citation_tesim":["N/A"],"source_tesim":["N/A"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/downloads/e2ccf563-4bf8-45b4-8ab0-8bec0ccb51c7?file=thumbnail","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_ids_ssim":["e2ccf563-4bf8-45b4-8ab0-8bec0ccb51c7"],"file_set_ids_ssim":["e2ccf563-4bf8-45b4-8ab0-8bec0ccb51c7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["atennant58@gmail.com"],"_version_":1832215513945604096,"timestamp":"2025-05-15T19:21:17.771Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"D.Min.
