They often become aware of ethical, social, cultural, and moral issues unfolding worldwide in real time through social media. Gen Z is open to learning about an ethical framework to help them navigate these issues. Many members of Gen Z know that the Catholic Church has ethical teachings on social matters. However, they are often unaware of the specifics or the breadth of issues in Catholic Social Teaching beyond topics of gender and sexuality. \r\n\tThis ministerial intervention incorporated a homiletical methodology that combined a collaborative process of sermon preparation, an inductive homiletical plot structure, and a dialogue preaching technique to create a preaching podcast about Catholic Social Teaching for Gen Z. Generation Z college students assisted at every step of the podcast production. Members of Gen Z helped develop the script, record, edit, and publish a podcast about Catholic Social Teaching. The podcast is titled Peace and Good. \r\n\tThis project used questionnaires to collect data about Gen Z college students’ awareness and understanding of Catholic Social teaching. A short post-episode survey collected data on listener engagement during the episode. The data demonstrate that a preaching podcast is successful in raising awareness and understanding of Catholic Social Teaching among Gen Z college students. Beginning with the assumption that the core issue preventing authentic conversation is a lack of a framework and basic tools that provide purpose and comfort in the interaction, the proposed solution for fostering authenticity in communication is to implement basic \"ground rules\" for small group discussions based on the principles of humility and curiosity, rooted in the theological concepts of forbearance and a scriptural understanding of the body of Christ found in 1 Corinthians 12. The project investigates how setting a common goal (intentionally living into/as the diverse “body of Christ”) and ground rules (forbearance, humility, curiosity) at the outset of group interaction could lead to more authentic individual contributions to conversations in a faith setting. Concepts were presented in a series of four discussion forums and relevant conversation skills were practiced in pairs or small groups. Data collected from observations of the forums, responses of participant surveys and follow up questions, indicate that participants did increase in their comfort with difficult conversation settings and topics after being introduced to a theological framework and the concepts of humility and curiosity, supporting the hypothesis. It is hoped that practice of this intentional engagement will build a more authentic representation of the body of Christ within the Church and model respectful disagreement within a diverse community for the wider world. \r\n"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-NC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["katerascoe@yahoo.com"],"_version_":1865180883840925696,"timestamp":"2026-05-14T16:11:44.370Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2026-05-14T14:31:55Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2026-05-14T14:31:56Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"423f01e8-e437-42cb-b49c-1b176ec038fd","accessControl_ssim":["fb96b446-e608-463b-b3e6-61ee1d43243d"],"depositor_ssim":["bsymonds82@gmail.com"],"depositor_tesim":["bsymonds82@gmail.com"],"title_tesim":["One Congregation's Journey to Discovering it's Gifts, Opportunities, and Limitations"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2026-05-14T14:31:55Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2026-05-14T14:31:55Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["803f1fbe-f658-4b88-917b-6a6571b97e91"],"hasLease_ssim":["7672fe30-31b8-4235-ba3c-f90cea51732a"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["2026"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Drawing on Pope Francis's vision of a participatory, listening Church, the study argues for a paradigm shift in Catholic school governance — one that prioritizes inclusivity, communal discernment, and collaborative decision-making as constitutive dimensions of ecclesial and educational life.\r\nEmploying a qualitative case-study methodology, the research was conducted across three Catholic secondary institutions: Minda High School, St. Bernard's High School, and St. Pius Enkanyisweni Technical College. Data were gathered through structured interviews and focus group discussions with students, educators, parents, and clergy, with the aim of identifying both the barriers that impede meaningful dialogue and the conditions that enable it.\r\nThe findings reveal that while synodal principles enjoy broad theological affirmation, their implementation in Zimbabwean Catholic schools remains uneven and constrained by hierarchical cultures, limited structures for student participation, and inadequate formation in synodal praxis. The thesis proposes a contextually grounded framework — informed by Ubuntu philosophy, Catholic social teaching, and the theology of synodality — for fostering a culture of listening, mutual accountability, and shared responsibility within Catholic educational institutions.\r\nPrimarily, this study seeks to advance educational practices that honor the dignity, agency, and diverse experiences of students, thereby contributing to a more authentically synodal expression of Catholic schooling in the Zimbabwean context and beyond.\r\n"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC-EDU/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/downloads/6b99fc2e-ba36-40e3-b557-46eab125ba9a?file=thumbnail","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_ids_ssim":["6b99fc2e-ba36-40e3-b557-46eab125ba9a"],"file_set_ids_ssim":["6b99fc2e-ba36-40e3-b557-46eab125ba9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["mmadzivanzira@student.ctu.edu"],"_version_":1864565981225943040,"timestamp":"2026-05-07T21:18:07.540Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2026-05-06T14:57:07Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2026-05-06T14:57:14Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"53c54cc2-58d6-418f-bbff-7bf43da95166","accessControl_ssim":["b89ec800-6a03-4a8b-b98b-7182736681b7"],"hasRelatedMediaFragment_ssim":["5b0ba72d-9757-4665-8516-26dbb8adf79b"],"hasRelatedImage_ssim":["5b0ba72d-9757-4665-8516-26dbb8adf79b"],"depositor_ssim":["gl9670@icloud.com"],"depositor_tesim":["gl9670@icloud.com"],"title_tesim":["Does Catholic Social Teaching Really Matter? In response to the challenges posed by a divided parish and the aspiration to transform it into a reflection of the Kingdom of God, as described in the Lumen Gentium, which portrays the church as the beginning of the Kingdom of God, the thesis proposes interculturality grounded on the perichoretic community as a transformative praxis. The dissertation concludes that sport, guided by theological discernment, can enrich priestly formation and pastoral outreach in the Church."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/downloads/7e92178e-ae5d-478e-8f3c-f205c0c400de?file=thumbnail","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_ids_ssim":["7e92178e-ae5d-478e-8f3c-f205c0c400de"],"file_set_ids_ssim":["7e92178e-ae5d-478e-8f3c-f205c0c400de"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["vjimenezmedina@student.ctu.edu"],"_version_":1864278632325709824,"timestamp":"2026-05-04T17:10:50.274Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2026-05-02T22:22:44Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2026-05-04T12:09:10Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"6aaed9af-b94c-4199-8b1b-12f32d187e27","accessControl_ssim":["ed91b41a-3b48-49a7-9129-2d40c338ca0f"],"depositor_ssim":["msnicolesotelo@gmail.com"],"depositor_tesim":["msnicolesotelo@gmail.com"],"title_tesim":["Jesus Christ, Trauma Survivor: Exploring Whether a Nurturant Parent Model for God Helps Abused Catholic Women Feel Safe and Connected to the Divine"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2026-05-02T22:22:43Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2026-05-04T12:08:22Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["dbcf255a-b684-400b-8299-af9b2c44911f"],"hasLease_ssim":["a2ee1c96-e0cd-4123-8271-9558bffe3ce3"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["0"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["0"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["D.Min."],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Catholic Theological Union"],"year_tesim":["2026"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Employing practical theology and qualitative methods, the study analyzes Catholic–Muslim relations alongside African Traditional Religious frameworks of coexistence. It argues that Western institutional models of interreligious dialogue inadequately account for Ghana’s lived, communal pluralism. Drawing on indigenous values such as sacred hospitality, relational personhood, and ritual praxis, the thesis proposes an inculturated model of dialogue that is both faithful to Catholic teaching and responsive to Ghanaian socio-religious realities."],"license_tesim":["https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/4.0/"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/downloads/2e0a48fd-c118-44f5-8415-43c81c0d1ce1?file=thumbnail","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_ids_ssim":["2e0a48fd-c118-44f5-8415-43c81c0d1ce1"],"file_set_ids_ssim":["2e0a48fd-c118-44f5-8415-43c81c0d1ce1"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["mananeadjei@student.ctu.edu"],"_version_":1863956620208242688,"timestamp":"2026-05-01T03:52:35.588Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2026-04-29T18:54:53Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2026-04-29T19:04:41Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"f13420ce-d98b-4539-a41a-b7e8bba4af64","accessControl_ssim":["0ab8de65-e363-49e8-a5b6-fa3b5606e596"],"hasRelatedMediaFragment_ssim":["5cf3fce0-ebe0-4b1a-b6ee-462d5c08631a"],"hasRelatedImage_ssim":["5cf3fce0-ebe0-4b1a-b6ee-462d5c08631a"],"depositor_ssim":["frankq142@gmail.com"],"depositor_tesim":["frankq142@gmail.com"],"title_tesim":["Reflecting the Kingdom of God: Interculturality as a Praxis of Ministry for Multicultural Parishes"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2026-04-29T18:54:52Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2026-04-29T19:04:35Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["1ecdf243-9c34-4fcc-aa63-e1eab6ee6964"],"hasLease_ssim":["e7ab7786-ad91-4592-b47f-4c2fb4069291"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Catholic Theological Union"],"year_tesim":["2026"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. The study examines the factors that contribute to and perpetuate ethnic community division within multicultural parishes. Subsequently, it proposes interculturality, grounded in the perichoretic communion of the Trinity, as a practical approach to ministry within multicultural parishes.
