The project consisted of the work of a design team of nine people from the congregation which included the pastor-author. For them, the prevailing 'born again' model does not express their personal faith experience.  This project prepared a study which used a narrative approach to explore the faith stories of several New Testament characters and the course participants themselves.  Findings indicated that participants were uncomfortable telling their faith stories before the course.  After they were given a variety of models of faith experience, the participants were more comfortable telling their stories and realized the importance of doing so. Storytelling workshops were conducted in which the participants learned biblical stories, reflected theologically about those stories and related the stories to their personal lives.
