Three methods are used to discover the pastoral care issues: 1. a start-up instrument from the American Lutheran Church; 2. an emotional response record; and 3. a case study.  The project results in the development of a revised call process. The student's own community composes the new environment.  The method considers these assumptions: 1. methodology needs to be consistent with its message; 2. remembrance is enlivened by experience; 3. recall is supported by sites and places; 4. meaningful teaching advances an ethic; 5. our ethic is visible in God's future kingdom; and 6. walking can support Christian learning.  Five lessons and post-tests demonstrate the method.  Evaluation included student responses a week after and parental response eighteen months later. These are that when a preacher and the persons listening to his or her sermon are of the same personlality type the response to the sermon by the listener will be more positive than when their types differ; and when a preacher and those persons listening to his or her sermon are of differing personality types communication is impeded. Data was gathered by using both the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and eight sermons preached with the same congregation during one twelve-week period. The research involved interviews with 25 community leaders in business, politics, and society who help determine the primary and secondary leaders of the community.  The primary leaders were interviewed and their style of leadership analyzed. The method pursued to gather data for this study was personal interviews guided by a pre-tested, uniform questionnaire. The conclusion reached was that the above thesis is true. Interviews, observation and a questionnaire were used to collect data from forty lay and clergy church leaders.  The paper includes sections on biblical and theological bases for stewardship, imperatives for stewardship and justice, motivation for giving, research methodology and data analysis. The curriculum format utilizes both direct and indirect teaching methods and employs a variety of pedagogical tools including biblical exegesis, philosophical analysis, theological insights and discussion techniques to accomplish this.
