Intended as an introduction to psalmody for those with little background, it contains musical settings for 28 psalms.  Each psalm is introduced by brief commentary regarding its formal structure and theological implications. The context of the project was a three week clinical course in hospital ministry based on the pastoral counseling theories of Adams, Hiltner, and Clinebell and Carl Rogers' ideas.  The results from the project revealed a bell-shaped pattern of change. Material is included for a four-week seminar titled: 'Your faith and your health'.  Five sermons are also included. This thesis/project is a descriptive study of the premarital counseling practices of a sample of 20 pastors in the Presbytery of Genesee Valley, New York, who were interviewed to ascertain their practices concerning inclusion of discussion of five areas of marital satisfaction which appear to be important for the content of premarital counseling: background information, communications, money, religion, and sexuality.  There is a wide divergence in the premarital counseling practices of pastors.  Some do an excellent job, but the majority of the sample appear to be struggling or frustrated in their practice of premarital counseling. Listening to the concerns of parishioners of the author's congregation, Washington Street United Methodist Church of Tiffin, Ohio, expressing their feelings of loss, the author attempted to build up the morale of the people. Process thought and personal experience become the tools to affirm the sacredness of the human body as a holy, valuing presence.  This ministerial project includes an initial workshop designed to enhance individuals' appreciation of their biological, psychological and religious aspects in relation to their total environment.  One instrument assesses body appreciation before the workshop, another afterwards. Although no change can be demonstrated, a high degree of participant satisfaction emerges.  The document details both theology and methods.
