The first group designed and implemented a one-day voter registration drive in South Oak Cliff, registering 55 persons in Dallas County. The paper notes how the issues of interpretation often recur, although the cultural context, and even the conception of the authority and inspiration of scripture may change.  One such issue is the value given to the historical context of the original writing or speaking of a given text.  The paper provides an overview of recurring issues in the history of interpretation and methods that various techniques of interpretation answer them. This project-thesis investigates causes and symptoms of burnout in the clergy and their similarity to the ancient sin of acedia, titled the 'Noonday Devil' by the Desert Fathers. Interfaith Ministries is a unique cooperative effort of 30 Christian congregations and one Jewish congregation. After a short demographic study of marriage in the United States today and an analysis of the current situation among Catholic married persons, the author cites contemporary church teaching and outlines the history and structures of marriage enrichment programs, couple communications workshops, marriage encounter week-ends, and finally, Teams of Our Lady. This project uses Bible studies of sermon texts, questionnaires, and evaluations.  The author concludes that participation in a sermon text Bible study group helps make the sermon relevant for the group participant; however, the data does not show that the relevance of a sermon increases because hearers are used in a Bible study of the sermon text. Such worship should take account of the way people develop morally and spiritually.  The models of Lawrence Kohlberg in moral development and of James Fowler in faith development are examined and related to current concepts in Christian worship and social ethics.  Five worship services and sermons were used to test developmental strategies on social-ethical themes. Organizations made up of disabled persons and a select number of pastors, doctors, and other professionals were interviewed concerning their work with handicapped persons. Five workshops, with continual evaluation and reflection, were conducted in three settings: in a cluster of churches, in a continuing education course for ministers involving theological reflection, and in one local church.  There was steady growth in understanding by facilitator and participants.
