When utilized, feedback can also enrich preaching. Following the examination of the components and phases of the process of communication, this dissertation describes the nature and role of feedback in modifying sermon content and delivery, identifies the sources, bases, and forms of acquiring feedback to preaching, and tests and evaluates some methods for acquiring feedback from a small group within a congregational setting.  Included are the procedure followed in organizing the feedback group and the steps in the development and utilization of feedback forms. 'Sharing' takes place when an individual member of the congregation relates to the congregation an event he deems spiritually significant.  Personal sharing requires a greater degree of self-disclosure and transparency than impersonal sharing. Eight parish ministers were trained to train lay persons in pastoral care ministry and in the theory and practice of pastoral supervision.  The ministers then received supervision of their supervision.  This dissertation presents descriptions of the practices of pastoral supervision by these seven ministers. In this trinitarian understanding of stewardship, Christian stewards are empowered through baptism to live as little Christs.  One of the critical needs is to reground stewardship in baptismal theology.  Baptismal theology also reveals the need for interpersonal relationships among God's people.  Without interpersonal relationships it is almost impossible to communicate and teach wholistic stewardship. Hymnody is used paradigmatically to demonstrate that worship and church administration are integrally related. The root meaning of 'liturgy' etymologically illustrates this point: leitourgia means 'the work of the people'. This paper suggests the thesis that worship and ministry are activities of all Christians (both clergy and laity). Church administration is the framework for effective ministry. In both contexts, that of mysticism and that of psychotherapy, paradoxes are set up in such a fashion that significant life change becomes possible for the mystical seeker/therapy client.  The process of change that is initiated by paradoxes is described using the models of the respective fields.
