The goal is to do case study research on successful pastors in North America to determine if their leadership styles match an hypothesis which states that, 'An effective Christian leader is a servant leader who under the direction of the Holy Spirit maximizes strengths, minimizes limitations, and consistently grows in Christlike character in order to influence others to develop adn accomplish a common vision.' 'Centering prayer' is a way of praying that encourages one to take a practical step to silently encounter God's presence at the centre of one's being. The original this of this project explored the use of centering prayer as a viable tool to enhance the devotional life of Korean Protestant Christian immigrants in Canada participating in this action-in-ministry. A proactive research method was used in this study. The conclusion of the project is that centering prayer is an effective tool to enhance devotional life. After a decade of remarkable growth its pastor resigned. How could renewal continue? A comprehensive biblical study concludes:continuing renewal comes through humble worship, dependent prayer and willing obedience to God. These principles are transferable. A Marriage Enrichment Seminar shows that in marriage worship becomes the adoration of the spouse to the exclusion of all other possible mates. Prayer becomes honest, loving communication. Obedience becomes mutual submission. The renewing church must find God's will for the future. The intended audience includes ministers and laity presently involved in or hoping to be involved in a visitation ministry with those who are dying.  The method used was a twelve-hour training program. The Fisher Divorce Adjustment Scale and the General Well Being Schedule were given to the attendees in a pre-test and post-test format. Subjective, short-answer questionnaires were given along with the two tests. Both the objective and subjective data showed significant change in the attendees. The psychological and physiological approaches are mentioned to provide a brief exposure to them. The theological method is covered in detail. The clergy and lay leadership of a small congregation participated in the project, which began with a consultation which sought to name and understand the issues of conflict within the congregation. This was followed by a six week Bible study.
