The project model chosen for this task was the preaching skills enhancement model. The project began with research: first in apologetics preaching and then in Christian apologetics. Once  research was complete, I used the information gathered to develop a sermon series addressing selected apologetics topics for the Calvary Baptist Church congregation and then delivered the sermons to the congregation. I gathered congregational and professional feedback on the sermons after the series was delivered. In the first phase of this project, I explored existing discipleship methods to determine best practices and conducted a church survey to reveal the spiritual health of FBC. A demographic study revealed the spiritual health of Neshoba County. Third, with the deacon’s approval, I selected a strategy team from the FBC membership and included the ministerial staff. The team and I used the summary of best practices, results from the spiritual survey of FBC, and the demographic study of Neshoba County to develop a strategy. The strategy team evaluated the accumulated methods of making disciples and created a discipleship strategy for FBC. Finally, the strategy team helped establish a course of action for presenting the discipleship strategy to the deacon body and congregation. I presented the strategy and implementation plan to the deacon body for feedback and approval. The deacons unanimously approved the discipleship strategy. I am in the process of preaching through the discipleship strategy in Sunday morning worship, and some of the members of  the strategy team have established pilot D-Groups. From this, along with other  church members, five pilot D-Groups have been meeting this fall. To accomplish this purpose, I, the project director, conducted research in the fields of discipleship and curriculum development. From this research, I identified essential skills of a disciple-maker: character of Christ, disciplines of Christ, communion with Christ, and humility of Christ. Once these skills were identified, I developed a five-session curriculum and implemented this curriculum in a two-day weekend workshop. In the weekend workshop the project director utilized different teaching techniques to engage participants; cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains of learning. The attendants \r\nparticipated in various evaluations specific to each of the three domains of  learning. I used various assessments to evaluate the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains of the participants. The project began by describing the role of hospice care as part of end-of-life-care\r\nservices. It then looked into the perceived biases (both theological and cultural) related to the Indian Christian population.\r\n\r\nThe research was conducted in the form of a survey with forty families and ten pastors that represented various denominations and language groups. The survey assessed how the families of the deceased viewed hospice care and why they chose to accept or decline these services for their loved ones. The response from the survey was analyzed and categorized into areas of theology, culture, and education.\r\n\r\nThe research results showed that the lack of knowledge related to hospice care among Indian Christians was a significant factor in their reluctance to use this service. It also showed that there were cultural factors that contributed to the lack of interest in this service by the families. As part of this project, I conducted an online survey of forty-seven people and interviewed ten people from the 2nd generation Indian Pentecostal diaspora to identify the reasons related to their leaving their respective churches. The study was done over two months, and the results provided a better understanding of the issues contributing to their decision. The survey revealed that the lack of spiritual growth, church politics, and lifestyle issues such as lack of role models and emphasis against wearing jewelry were the primary reasons for the 2nd generation leaving the Indian Pentecostal diaspora churches in Chicagoland.\r\n\r\nThe study results also showed that while most of those who left the Indian Pentecostal diaspora churches in Chicago still identified as Pentecostals, they chose to attend ‘non-denominational’ churches regularly. Most respondents agreed that they missed the community aspect of the Indian Pentecostal church but concluded that they would not return to an Indian Pentecostal Church in the future. The project corresponded with SVBC’s mission of “equipping and unleashing cultures and generations to authentically live out the Gospel everywhere” and addresses the importance of intercultural unity as a core biblical value.\r\n\r\nThe project’s approach integrates theological foundations, such as the imago Dei and imago Christi, biblical reconciliation, and the redemptive mission of God for all peoples, explored through a sermon series with themes of Identity, Lament, Reconciliation, and Mission. This theological framework sets the stage for qualitative research conducted through focus group interviews to analyze the perspectives of SVBC members on the impact of Cultural Diversity Month. Key findings include enhanced cultural awareness, new relational connections across cultural lines, and a deeper engagement with biblical themes of unity and diversity. Participants expressed a sense of shared identity in Christ, an appreciation for diverse expressions of worship, and a strengthened commitment to living out SVBC’s mission in their daily lives.\r\n\r\nThe project concludes with practical recommendations for SVBC, including steps for ongoing intercultural integration, the development of culturally sensitive outreach strategies, and strengthening SVBC’s mission through regular worship that reflects the congregation’s cultural diversity. Upon hiring the current senior pastor in 2009, the church began a substantial revitalization journey that continues to this day. One of the early steps was revising the church's bylaws, which nullified all previous policies and left the process for future policy development unclear. As a church grows numerically, developing the systems that support its growth becomes paramount. This project addressed one of those systems by proposing the establishment of a policy development strategy. The first part  of this project explored the field of church policies to determine the best process for policy development. The second part examined the current policies at Stetson Baptist Church to determine policy development needs. The third and final part established a policy development strategy for church council consideration. To accomplish this goal, I collected information about the membership and involvement level of new church members including LifeGroup attendance, DGroup attendance, involvement in serving, and a general survey of their familiarity with each of these as well as the church's core doctrinal beliefs. I selected three churches that assimilate new members well and researched their processes. I also created an annotated bibliography of relevant resources to guide this project. From the research, I identified and organized best practices. I also developed a strategic planning team to assist in discerning weaknesses in the church’s current process and needed improvements based on the research from other churches. The strategic planning team identified areas for improvement and created an assimilation strategy. First Baptist Somerset has a long history of planting, replanting, and partnering with churches for further  gospel impact. Over time, the need for articulation of best practices and clear guidelines for such partnerships emerged. To meet this need, I researched the area of church fostering, identified best practices, and presented the proposed guidelines in the form of a church fostering handbook.\r\n\r\nThis project followed the ministry research model of NOBTS professional \r\ndoctoral program and included the goals of researching the field of church  fostering and developing a church fostering handbook. Research included interviews with leading voices in the Southern Baptist Convention and an examination of existing models in the field. From the ministry research, a list of  best practices was synthesized and compiled into a church fostering ministry handbook. The resulting products of the project were sent to expert evaluators  for assessment and evaluation.
