It also has a life cycle.  This paper examines the factors which make for growth and those which cause decline. Knowing where a congregation is in its life cycle permits interventions to be made to alter its path. The particular focus is teletex, text transmitted by computer and telephone.  Communications theory is used to place this medium in context with other media.  ECUNET, an ecumenical teletex system, is explored to see if the theological and media presuppositions work in practice. Evangelism is a part of mission; worship an action of God's people.  Evangelism is a personal and communal activity of a worshipping community.  The paper recounts worship as it was honed in the Black religious American experience. African American Lutheran struggles with Eurocentric worship are explored.  Five worship models used in African American Lutheran circles are proposed. Interviews are part of the pastoral care model. The voices of victims are heard in seven interviews, direct source material for researchers. The author distributed a questionnaire among the youth of the city to determine their needs.  The author tested and trained a group of eleven sports instructors from the First Baptist Church to implement the project.  The posttest indicated an increase in the instructors' commitment to personal evangelism, flexibility in ministry and the use of sports as a viable tool in ministry.  The author and instructors designed and produced materials to be used in the sports clinics. The author used the experimental method and the descriptive survey method to conduct the research. Twenty adult church members explored the concept of church membership, participated in small-group fellowship meetings and composed a church membership covenant. The research method was a nonrandomized select sample utilizing two control groups. The Palmore FAQ quiz and the Kogan scale were used to identify the presence and effects of ageism. A four-session equipping course was used to treat the group of senior adults.  The treated group was observed to determine whether they would become involved in church ministry after the treatment. Research was accomplished to discover children's basic developmental needs and parenting skills necessary to meet the needs.  A six-week parent training seminar was attended by seven parents.  Pre- and posttests were administered to parents and their children, with a time-lapse evaluation also given to parents.
