A structured 'process conflict resolution' course was developed that combined object relations and family systems theories as the content for identifying conflict.  The research involved a college and church group to compare and determine the effect of the course on the two populations. Data for the final evaluation were gathered from a pre- and post-conflict mode test and 'describe yourself' paragraph. The results were statistically compiled. The nature of the research was both literary and social, as the sources of Baptist spirituality were traced through church history and the emerging principles were applied within the program of a local church. This work was done for the sole purpose of inspiring clergy and laity to honor the mandate of our Lord (Matthew 28:19-20) to enter the field of evangelism.  The method of study and research was to investigate the norms of evangelism: biblical, theological and empirical perspectives.  After research we practiced evangelism.  The various approaches taken gave opportunities for ministry beyond expectations.  The results were astronomical. It asked the question: how do clergy determine the calling of God as it relates to the decision to move to another church?  In order to develop the database necessary to answer this question, a survey was developed that elicited responses from a random sample of Baptist General Conference pastoral staff. What steps are pastors taking to help listeners put the preached Word into practice?  Pastors of the Southeastern District of the Evangelical Free Church of America were polled to determine what actions they take before, during, and after preaching to facilitate listener response.  Findings revealed strength in sermon preparation, construction, and delivery.  Preachers indicated weakness, however, in developing the call for response and subsequent follow-through.  Few pastors provided opportunity for listeners to plan and practice personal change. The suggested church-planting model takes a very practical approach, giving precise goals, projected time tables, and specific guidelines for each step. The challenge is to get the congregation to understand the meaning of a servant church.  The conclusion of the research revealed a need to revamp the organizational structure of the church. Church leadership went through a self-evaluation and drew up a ten-year financial report.  They designed a questionnaire and used it to analyze change.  The minister delivered six sermons on financial stewardship.  Findings showed that attitudes did not generate the shortfall in giving.  The denomination sets goals too high.  Members gave generously to a variety of causes.  Leaders then guided small group discussions to encourage members, discuss allocation of funds, and make suggestions for the 1993 budget. Worship is used as a basis for an understanding that we offer ministry, and that our priesthood, ordained or lay, can sanctify the whole world.  Interventions in Anglican ritual that encourage a rethinking are used: gathering, study, prayer, table, and sending forth.
