Chapter 2 establishes a theological foundation. Chapters 3 and 4 record the progress of the project from implementation to completion. The project employed a treatment effects format, documenting change with scales measuring self-esteem, locus of control and level of stress. Therefore, Korean churches have become strongly biased against traditional religions and various theatrical traditions.  Korean Christianity, although very Western in its liturgy and appearances, is obviously quite shamanistic in its belief and behavior.  In the Korean traditional theater, shinmyong is a special artistic experience characterizing the popular aesthetic consciousness of the Korean people.  Shinmyong gives rise to the birth of the people's enthusiastic and participating worship, whether on an individual or a group level.  The shinmyong is comparable to the Western Christian liturgical experience. Shinmyong is an embodiment and incarnation of the Spirit innate in each and every person. The church of Korea should acknowledge these theatrical phenomena as unique resources for the Christian liturgical theology. Research was conducted through a five-year observation of a family recovery program in San Diego, California, and was substantiated by several current recovery models.  The subject recovery program, PARTS (Parents and Adolescents Recovering Together Successfully), is self-managed by families with addicted children.
