The product was tested and evaluated by a small group of competent counselors and pastors in the project phase.  It was revised using the group input.  The result is a training manual that first outlines the overall principles in counseling Chinese. Research revealed that funeral plans are best made in advance, eliminating unnecessary, hidden expenses and avoidance of emotional trauma. A spiritual person is alive, attuned to every aspect of life.  In my thesis I tell my story, the story of others and that of a congregation.  Telling our stories is important.  If I am going to be spiritually effective as a healing pastor I need to share my journey of pain and hope, of struggle and joy.  If a group of people is to be effective as a congregation, its members must be comfortable in sharing their stories. One cause is a lack of proper focus on the doctrine of heaven.  Using before and after testing of a class taught using a nine-lesson curriculum based on a lay-oriented book on this doctrine, the study concludes that this book and curriculum were effective in positively influencing the understanding of and attitude toward heaven in the test group.  Such an improvement led to better motivation toward personal godliness and witness in almost all students.
