The project applies the concept of hospitality to the development of a specialized older adult ministry.  The study examines the characteristics and needs of older adults and notes the biases held by society against the elderly.  By using insights from social marketing theory, hospitality was expressed by carrying out need assessment, program design, implementation, and evaluation for an older adult ministry in a particular congregation. It shows ways to identify that grief, and pictures the dynamics of three congregations in grief. Some stories reveal a problem of nonforgiveness among the people. Theological research reveals that though our memories will not release our hurts, there must be some sharing of God's grace and forgiveness between the members of the church. When a minister discovers a problem like nonforgiveness, there must be some constructive way to address the problem without inflaming past wounds. Employing a process model of theological reflection, the project identifies three foundations for the campus minister-educator's articulated role: (1) the promoting of critical skills, (2) the development and sustaining of community, and (3) the promoting of imagination.
