Ten Bible study 'methods' were studied and applied to passages in the Pastoral Epistles. The conference lasted three days.  It was evaluated through questionnaires at the conference and with follow-up mailings. An accompanying teacher's manual was provided.  Teaching methodology included the use of an overhead projector, role playing, lecture, discussion, and small group activities. These included poor internal communication, lack of member participation in goal setting, and limited member ownership of church goals. A biblical and theological framework is constructed.  A review of stewardship literature notes the pledge and free-will methods utilized by different churches.  Insights applicable to the church setting are also gleaned from fund-raising literature.
