The project was researched with a local church board of administration consisting of nine men.  There  were two facets of the project.  An educational emphasis employed twelve school of ministry sessions.  The experiential impact was highlighted by ten ministry reports from the board members.  Some of the results included a greater awareness that all Christians are ministers; an increased understanding of and involvement in ministry. There must be 'ownership' of the ministry before it can be effective.  The motivation for ministry must derive from a vital relationship with Jesus Christ and genuine love for people. This paper includes a discussion of prayer in life, a survey of literature, description and evaluation of the two groups, theological reflections, and includes outlines of the sessions, a prayer worksheet, and an evaluation form for spiritual growth groups.
