First, the author conducted a telephone survey of forty of two hundred men who responded to an earlier evangelistic proclamation. he then produced and presented four lessons on follow-up which were evaluated by seven members of the ministry team. Evangelism, administration, finances, worship, Bible teaching, and leadership are all inter-related elements involved in making disciples of Jesus Christ. The twelve churches in Bogota started from a Bible study of ten people and use the name Aposento Alto, which means Upper Room. Biblical study and literature survey identified the nature, development, and practice of spiritual authority in Asia. Empirical study utilized leadership Emergence Theory (Clinton) to interpret qualitative ethnographic data and quantitative questionnaire data from researcher developed assessment tools. Three findings emerged: spiritual authority has both universal aspects and culturally distinct expressions; identity formation is central in spiritual authority development; and instructor 'fathering' of students had life changing impact. Chapter two examines the theological, biblical, and sociological foundations for a disciplemaking church. It proposes a twenty-four month plan for an intentional, sequential strategy at Calvary Baptist. Chapter three discusses the six seminars our T-NET team attended at Trinity International University. The appendices include some of the substantial homework completed. Double binds occur when one is internally conflicted and not able to turn any direction without negative consequences.  For episcope' one double bind is absence of a shared authority.  Another is the presence of a divided constituency.  The third is the absence of a sense of God or the holy purpose for the work. Content retention was measured through a pre- and post-test.  Personal impact was measured by interviews.  A series of ten sermons was preached, evenly divided in style between narrative and propositional.  It was concluded that the actual content was more important than the form it was presented in.  Neither form rated higher in specific impact. TELL is unique in that (1) it utilizes the Law (Ten Commandments) in showing non-Christians their need for a savior; (2) it utilizes tests for true salvation from the book of 1 John to help people discern if their profession of Christianity is real; and (3) it emphasizes our identity in Christ in discipleship before emphasizing spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading, prayer, and witnessing. The research for the project was based on the functions of Baptist associations, language missions, and church planting.
