One goal was to evaluate candidate shifts in Christ-formation and ministry functions within their respective groups. Rather than appearing to condone the abusive actions of a few by not openly discussing the subject, the church needs to give voice to those women as one means of helping them find their way into healing. The project summarized the major issues that affect these women, and offered ten Bible studies designed to assist them, addressing matters such as anger, guilt, shame, repentance, and forgiveness both from a biblical and a psychological perspective. The project helped traumatized veterans who experienced posttraumatic stress disorder and moral injury for whom other forms of therapy had not worked. Methods used were cognitive behavioral therapy and prolonged exposure therapy, in the context of a 12-week couples therapy group. Results were resolution of traumatization and forgiveness. The writings of Luther, Calvin, Packer, Newbigin, and Kirkwood were researched for their theological implications for ministry in church and state. Christian chaplains and supervisors were interviewed to describe their ministries. The new generation of retirees from the baby boomer generation will define aging and retirement in a new way. Thus the church is challenged to find new ways to prepare pastors for retirement, and to tap into the growing potential and vast experience of retired pastors. The purpose of this project was to conduct an investigative study to help the Free Church strategize. This assumption can cause young adults unnecessarily pain because they do not benefit from older Christian adult spiritual, relational and employment experience securing Christian self-actualization.
