The workship schedule consisted of nine sessions held on Thursdays with approval by the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) and the administration of MSP. The selected group consisted of thirteen IRAs, and each session lasted approximately two hours. The project director addressed the following pastoral issues: pastoral ministry skills, comfort and caring skills, anger management skills (two sessions), counseling skills, interpersonal relationship skills, listening skills, and suicide prevention skills before closing the workship with a final summary session. The project goals were to research the field of pastoral ministry skills, to develop teaching sessions to equip selected IRAs in pastoral minisrty skills, and to equip selected inmate religious assistants (IRAs) in pastoral ministry skills. The writer revisited Korean Christianity and reclaimed the Trinitarian concepts of relationship with respect to healing and recovery. One of the findings is that the precepts of early Korean Christianity was based on the doctrine of the Trinity, which seemed to be missing in relation to the North Korean refugees' ministry. This research is to find out factors that enable the leaders to effectively equip their youths. This study employs descriptive research methodology and concentrates in three research questions: What are the characteristics of the effective leaders? What are the practices of the effective leaders? What makes effective leadership teams? The findings rest on interviews with leaders of five effective Chinese churches of NYC (BCCC, FaBC, FiBC, NYCAC, and OCM), InterVarsity, and Seekers. The premise was that people who go to church do not necessarily experience God as heavenly father in their personal lives.     A self-selected group of fifty participants provided the data from a Likert scale questionnaire along with some open-ended questions. The results showed that participants experiences of God as heavenly father generated positive emotions. An aspect of that polity is autonomy that declares each local Baptist church is a self-governing entity. In this context, lay authority has the potential to be misused and the laity can deselect a pastor at their will. This project, a case study is the presentation of a church to show how the call system works from candidacy to deselection. This study calls for an additional layer of pastoral oversight and recommends that pastors lead Baptist laity in securing pastors. The problem addressed by this project is imbalance in power and authority held by Baptist laity and manifested in the call system.
