Using the ministry skill enhancement model, the project director studied a variety of resources to identify the basic elements of public evangelistic invitations.  The project director prepared a series of sermons containing public evangelistic invitations that demonstrate the aforementioned basic elements.  The project director delivered these sermons to the congregation of Wayside Baptist Church. The author  suggests that such an addiction in the life of a believer is a matter of idolatry. He points out that the normal secular counseling strategies with their emphasis on addiction as 'disease' and even many of the 'so called' Christian strategies fail to address the spiritual issues involved in ways that bring real healing and wholeness. The author read extensively in the literature published on this topic and interviewed those involved with the addiction including victims, counselors and the abusers themselves. Churches can have and do all the 'right things': congregational unity, biblically faithful worship and teaching, baptisms, large missions receipts, deep savings, community outreach programs, and denominational notoriety--and yet dontinue to experience numerical stagnation and even decline. This project discusses the local church as a living organism exploring the theory that every church is unique such that identifying and actively expressing its congregational DNA can lead to revitalization. In this study the responses to a series of congregational surveys, interviews, and inventories were 'interpreted' and used to identify a church's DNA. To prove the hypothesis, key materials were searched, 37 informants were interviewed and 189 lay people from 5 local churches were trained. Interdisciplinary archival study with philosophical, biblical, theological and missiological research methods are employed. Both the missio Dei and Christian missions take on new meanings from cosmic conflict paradigm. This study shows seven dimensions of Christian missions in correspondence with a sevenfold mission of Christ. The participants evaluated and deepened their understanding of worship and intentionality through group sessions and the use of workbooks. They also wrote, implemented and evaluated weekly action plans to give opportunity to practice intentionality in leading worship. Finally, participants were asked to commit themselves to continued intentionality in their worship leadership role.
