Theological and biblical foundations based on the spirituality of Ignatius of Loyola in the context of his Spiritual exercises will be prioritized with complementary reading from the classic spiritual texts of three selected mystics: Hildegard of Bingen, Bernard of Clairvaux, and Julian of Norwich. The project director developed a training curriculum. He enlisted recruitment team members, know as 'connection coaches,' for six training sessions. The connection coaches learned about spiritual gifts, personality temperments, natural abilities, and best practices for helping members become involved in ministry. After the training, connection coaches accepted an assignment to contact a specific new member. He or she facilitated that new member's enlistment into a ministry position. Objective evaluators in the fields of curriculum development and lay ministry recruitment evaluated the project director's growth. Using participation observation and interviews, it analyses two types of parish prayer groups, which embody the separate inculturation of the gospel into indigenous Fijian and Indo-Fijian cultures, and finds them inadequate. This question is answered fundamentally by the application of a Biblically based philosophy of mission that promotes a more organic connection between the local church and field mission. As a college course, The Theology of Discernment introduced students to the manner in which individuals from Scripture and Christian Tradition discovered God's desires for them. These models of discernment were adapted by students to create Personal Discernment Models for vocational discernment and to answer critical, ultimate life questions. For churches in transition, focusing their worship life and preaching in particular, toward theological themes that arise at the table will transform the interim journey into a sacramental journey. The author took the liturgy of the Table and identified eleven places within the liturgy to bring together issues that arise in congregations between pastors and theological themes that arise at the Table. Using insights from the field of performance studies, a descriptive examination is given of performance in general, cultural performance, modalities of performance, and a methodology of dialogical performance. The areas of preaching, scripture, doctrine, and ethics are examined as components of the church's cultural performance.
