He offered five descriptors for beauty: Fitness, Durability, Motion, Force, and Metaphor. Research showed that the institute was succeeding in teaching biblical knowledge. It did not succeed in motivating people to greater service in church or community. The author concluded that various factors entered into the cause of the failure. Findings from this study did not show that emotional expressiveness played an important role in marital satisfaction among the overseas Chinese subjects.  However, feelings of ambivalence over emotional expressiveness strongly predicted marital distress for the Chinese female subjects. This project assessed their academic, social, and spiritual formation necessary to maintain their cultural identity as they adapt to the American culture to discover how to help improve their self-esteem, to teach healthy relationships, and teach freedom from the need to oppress, control, or to feel superior to others. The data collected and analyzed discovered that these young Liberians surveyed had good attitudes toward their race and national identity as Liberians.  They feel loved by God and believed they are good persons. Using different homiletical strategies: connecting money and mission in year one; money and mystagogy in year two; and forgoing theological connections in order to speak directly about money in year three; the author examined the advantages and challenges to each approach, and presented statistical analysis based on congregational survey results collected at the end of the series. The project employed the use of various active teaching methods in order to include the different learning styles of the students.  The project demonstrates that the use of these active learning methods did result in a reduction in rote memorization and a significant improvement in the student's ability to retain what they were being taught. A careful analysis of the theoretical basis of the model was made and presented to a group of Christian mental health professionals and mission personnel in order to assess the theological appropriateness and clinical effectiveness of the model for use by Christians. Three passages from Paul's writings (Eph. 1:4-10; 4:1-16; and 1 Corinthians 12) were researched as they relate to cross-cultural partnerships characterized by grace, including Paul's views of community, use of gifts, use of power, and grace.  The theoretical issues researched focused on Geert Hofstede's dimensions of individualism, power distance, and uncertainty avoidance. The research was selective, and it considered the initial interracial evangelistic emphasis of American Methodism's Wesleyan heritage.
