A proposed series of strategies was designed to raise our level of Spirituality using the following:  Goal 1: Communicate prayer needs weekly until December 31, 2006.  Goal 2: Provide at least three additional corporate spiritual growth opportunities.     Goal 3: Provide at least three additional individual spiritual growth opportunities. This project reviews the care needed and received by ministers experiencing a forced resignation and presbytery's provision of care during such an event.  The emotional, spiritual, physical, and financial dynamics of a minister experiencing a forced resignation are explored. The pastoral care provided by a presbytery for its member-ministers during such a trauma is examined in light of a model of pastoral support developed by Lloyd Rediger. The study course included five instructional sessions scheduled one week apart, with workbook assignments for participants to complete between each teaching session.  The goal of this course was to teach participants the biblical principles which lead to spiritual growth, as well as scriptural standards by which to evaluate key aspects of their lives.  Learners then moved from self-evaluation to setting written goals that drew them closer to God's standard for their lives.  Finally, participants designed a customized spiritual growth strategy, including specific action steps to reach their goals. The researcher explores difficulties First United Presbyterian Church encountered getting a ministry to the economically disadvantaged established called Peter's Place. The project is based on the proposition that increased congregational awareness concerning poverty and homelessness would create greater support for the ministry among the church's membership. A series of Community Forums was held with different community advocates about poverty, unemployment and homelessness throughout Charlotte. Spiritual neglect leads to increased stress and burnout.  This project focuses on ethnically and ecumenically diverse women in Greeneville, TN who report overwhelming personal chaos.  Through examination of daily journals and weekly meeting, the spiritual discipline of lectio divina (praying the scriptures) is examined in how it impacts the participants' relationship with God and how praying the scriptures enhances their ability to cope. Youth ministry theologians have recently begun to argue for the need to shift from focusing on the formal structure of youth ministry and rather focus on the informal structures involved in youth ministry.  This project focuses on a study of the informal structures involved in the 2006 Youth Theology Initiative (YTI) Summer Academy.  The role of the informal structure of residential life during the 2006 YTI Summer Academy is explored and is shown to have made a significant transformative impact in the lives of the youth who participated in the program. The parallel and reciprocity inspiring implementation of a six-session course on our history and an international, interracial local church partnership strengthened our identity as a community of faith in both the local and global sense. This was evaluated through four sermon projects, which led to specific observations regarding the nature of the sermonic point itself, which is discussed in terms of its quantity, quality, and acquisition. The thesis includes methods of obtaining the point suggested from the sermon projects and the contributions of those who have articulated their process in book form or interviews.
