The study addressed the problem of transforming conservative attitudes about work and leisure within the congregation.  Project implementation occurred in two phases, a congregational survey and a Bible-based leisure counseling group.  Quantitative and qualitative data collected were analyzed using SPSS 13.0.  Eight hypotheses were tested, four were affirmed and four rejected. There are distinct preacher identities, and these can be determined as an outcome of a preaching survey. Data from a survey conducted among priests established three preacher identities: disciple, entertainer, and teacher. The study examines the formation needs for each identity while exploring pedagogics and methods, and presents a model for forming preachers using identity on the foundation that an understanding of preacher identity can result in better preaching. A survey of pastors is conducted to discover homiletical, technical, and theological guidelines for the use of video clips in sermons. The project director researched worship planning and theology and wrote a seven week curriculum designed to teach about biblical worship and worship planning.  He taught it to nine people.  Effectiveness was measured using pre-tests, post-tests, class evaluations, worship service evaluations by an outside expert, focus groups, journal, and a follow-up interview. With the goal of developing a ministry plan for Fellowship Church of Carol Stream, Illinois, a dozen nearby churches were examined for ministry effectiveness utilizing the collecting and analysis of anonymous congregational surveys. This project led students to develop an understanding of a theology of the cross along with its practical implications for their personal lives and for their own ministry opportunities. Since theology is itself a dialogical discipline, a small group of students was enlisted to study together a theology of the cross as well as how they could apply a cruciform theology throughout the Baptist Student Ministry. This project lasted for one semester and attempted to include all of the students that were involved in the Baptist Student Ministry Program. The majority of the work, however, was completed by a smaller, select group of students. A larger group of students were asked to evaluate the testimonies, devotional materials, and sermons prepared by the select group.
