Byron and The Black Messiah by Albert B. Cleage.  Five modules, of a theological-social nature, can improve the intercultural awareness of the participants.  This was validated by the multicultural awareness quiz, which was employed as the pre-test.  A post-questionnaire was the method of gathering and evaluating feedback.  Measurement was accomplished by collecting and reviewing the data from the questionnaires.  Results were incorporated into the dissertation. The objective was to design a philosophy of funeral ritual relevant to postmodern people using narrative and life-situational preaching.  The project question: 'In order to help heal the heartache of bereavement, how does the minister provide the transformative power of positive preaching in 21st-century funeral and memorial rituals?'  Methodology, conformed to a qualitative standard, included intentional observation of funerals, interviews, a review of personal historic funerary documents, and a questionnaire.  A new model of funeral ritual and preaching was created. It describes authentic church growth and creates a replicable design to achieve such expansion.  The project took the form of a case study over a two-year period.  I present a narrative of an evangelism model that will stimulate church growth.  Various evangelism components with innovative methods and training sessions belonged to the project.  The results of this case study confirmed that churches which participated acquired membership growth. The author analyzed an interdenominational sample of fifty sermons from GLBT contexts.  The sermons were numerically scored to discern the local theology preached.  Key topics were queer Biblical hermeneutics, the development of healthy GLBT communities, integrating identity as GLBT and Christian, working for justice in hostile cultures, and developing a theology of sexuality and relationships. A multi-picture PowerPoint presentation was employed, and written surveys, focus groups, and one-on-one interviews measured the response.  The result was a seventy-seven percent positive response, a seventeen percent neutral response, and a six percent negative response. To address the question, a focus group was engaged to study four disciplines of the faith: meditation, sabbath, commitment, and service, to determine if they would help facilitate a movement toward spiritual wholeness.  The findings indicated that there was a lack of awareness of the disciplines, combined with significant life components that vied for their attention. My proposal involved pre-testing subjects to determine their level of knowledge regarding health care issues.  Subsequently, the study conducted a series of seminars designed to increase the participants' knowledge on issues of health care.  Following those seminars, the study evaluated its results by post-testing the participants to determine the extent of acquired knowledge. The researcher hypothesized that women in group therapy will heal more rapidly than those in individual counseling.  The results from therapy sessions held over a period of six months supported the researcher's hypothesis.  The researcher concluded that pastoral counseling with a focus on reframing techniques is more successful in group therapy. Evaluation of the model was based upon a congregational survey, a personal and a group interview with those sharing.
