African-American ministers are not immune to these pressures. They face difficulties due to external racial conflicts as well as internal challenges from their congregations due to racial expectations. There is a breach in the ministry that some African-American ministers seem to have overlooked; it is their family. While it is clear that many African-American ministers and their families are walking with God and standing tall in their respective ministries, many are failing, causing a ripple effect in their churches, communities, and homes. The project involved participation by a select group of Russian-speaking students at CTE in seminars where these problems were identified and analyzed. The author planned for other young adults, peer ministers, to be the instruments through which those outlets were created.  The peer ministers received training and created programming for their peers, but the young adults and others at New Jerusalem did not feel that any programs were offered. Government policies in some states in northern Nigeria are tilted to favor Muslims. The enforcement of the sharia legal system in twelve northern states in Nigeria has marginalized the Christians and made the mission and evangelism of the Church difficult. The innovation by the Wusasa Diocese to reach out using techniques like personal evangelism, discipleship, dialogue, education and poverty alleviation programmes are yielding results. Muslims are coming to know Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Dialogue has helped to minimize violence and has promoted mutual understanding between Christians and Muslims. He researched ways that preaching and teaching were used in the gospels, Acts, and the Lutheran confessional writings.  He also sought input from contemporary writing in homiletics and in Christian education. He reported on ways that he particularly linked the sermon and the Sunday School in his parish.
