Through historical and case study investigation, the author assesses the current dynamic of the Mexicali Baptist Seminary.  The research shows that there remains much to be done for the Seminary to foster mutuality in ministry.  Problems, resulting mainly from economic realities and power and authority issues, pose serious obstacles. In three stages of research (qualitative and quantitative) the author utilized a sample group, a control group and five small Bible study groups in one or more of the projects.  Data were gathered via profile questionnaires, personal spiritual status indices, and exit interviews.  A culturally and denominationally sensitive manual was developed and tested during the thesis project. This can occur because preaching is difficult, demanding and done in isolation.  Could a preachers' peer mentoring group encourage the preacher and strengthen their preaching?  The scripture reveals pastors need to be concerned about their preaching.  The Bible affirms mutual support and offers examples of peer mentoring.  Peer mentoring is widely used in many fields today.  From secular and Christian insights, a peer-mentoring program for preachers was designed, implemented, and tested. Six participants (18-35 years old) had lunch six times with the preacher. They gave sermon feedback, discussed the upcoming lectionary texts, and participated in an exit interview. Ten pastors were interviewed about membership, visitor follow-up, involvement without pastors, and restoration of those who left one church for another local church. They were exposed to concepts involving the greater church body in the restoration process especially when there had been immorality or divisiveness. Many churched men and women are unaware of the foundational principles for life together revealed in Genesis.  Biblical teaching on women's roles is given significant attention. Resolution on this issue is necessary if men and women are to glorify and enjoy God together as God intended from the beginning.  Interviews, surveys, and evaluations from various presentations provided direction for a final teaching presentation. Handouts, PowerPoint slides, and full scripts are included. The report included research, meditation practice sessions, a preparatory sermon, post/pre questionnaires and an evaluation of the entire process.  The theological dialogue partners included Dale Andrews and Howard Thurman. The results  were a better understanding of the congregation's approach to worship and their desired outcome of worship. Drawing on organizational theory, congregational systems theory, grief and transition research, and interim ministry practice, the author identifies six goals for presbyteries of the PC(USA) to assist congregations during this period.  A manual was developed, featuring training modules in Appreciative Inquiry, and other resources to reframe the crisis and to empower lay leadership.  Structural strategies include transition teams and temporary supply ministers.
