The congregation voted to relocate its entire ministry and this study will document the need for the expansion project. This evaluation will analyze the functionality of the future facility, the number of personnel currently involved in ministries at the church, the financial considerations given to a project of this magnitude, and the time involvement of the volunteer force of Calvary Bible Church. The new facility was intentionally designed to double the present facility's capacity. Our new facility will exceed the present occupancy needs and that the church finances will be seen as a contributing factor in the future ministry of the church. The author used 'The Self-Guided Church Consultant' as a method of study. I formed an inductive biblical study of chapters three and four of the Gospel of John. I took some personal evangelistic principals from Jesus' interactions with Nicodemus and the Samaritan woman. I created a survey to learn the effectiveness of the Evangelism Explosion (EE) method. The conclusion in our church is that Jesus used the personal evangelism in his ministry. To that end, the project provides an example of a tested graduate level women's ministry course to train women leaders.  The material was specifically designed for the master's degree in Christian education at Dallas Theological Seminary where the author teaches.  Four evaluation tools over two semesters were implemented. The data was analyzed and used to recreate the course enhancing learning and providing a model for future studies that can be adapted to local church settings as well as academic classrooms. The local church is God's plan for this age and the local church should feature biblical preaching. That being the case, the preacher that a church calls is the most strategic decision made by a particular local church.  Pastoral Search Committees are motivated to pursue excellence in the pulpit.  However, there are essentially no available resources designed with the goal of motivating and equipping these search committees to call pastors who will preach expository sermons.  This thesis-project designed a manual for that specific purpose.  The manual was taught as a Sunday morning elective in a local church. In Chapter 1, the purpose, goals and context of the project are discussed.  Chapter 2 explores the Scriptural mandate for seeking out and evangelizing the lost.  Chapter 3 attempts to understand the unchurched condition by reviewing the history of research on that subject.  Chapter 4 describes the process of setting up and implementing the project.  Chapter 5 evaluates all its aspects, as planned and executed. The New Testament concept of discipleship is imitating Christ to become like Him in love, obedience, and good work; thus, the goal of the church's overall ministry is the believer's Christian maturity to the fullness of Christ. Committing one's life to Jesus Christ and faithfully following Him, and leading others to be His disciples is true Christian ministry: as practiced by women to women, this is true women's ministry. Women following Jesus Christ and becoming disciple-makers in a  theology for effective ministry to women. Mobilizing women to live out that theology is the Christian practice for women in the twenty-first-century church. But Jesus did not stop with servant leadership.  He took his leadership with the disciples to the next level when he stated, 'I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business.  Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from the Father I have made known to you (John 15:15).  This thesis develops the idea that leadership modeled after the ministry of Jesus, which includes the ingredient of deep friendship, is more effective than leadership that does not include friendship.  In developing this idea, this thesis examines the reasons leaders have often avoided friendship and how doing this has compromised their effectiveness. It presents research from over one hundred surveys, showing how friendship has been central in the development of leaders (both clergy and laity alike). It also examines historical and contemporary writings on friendship to support this idea. The study continues with an examination of culture along with a biblical theology of understanding and engaging culture. The study lays out a biblical paradigm for engaging the postmodern generations that is based on the Apostle Paul's engagement with the pagan Athenian culture in Acts 17.
