The thesis begins with an analysis of the need for new missionaries in the C\u0026MA while also showing how the denomination has addressed the issue. The second and third chapters provide a biblical-theological framework of missions and missionary recruitment along with a broad understanding of millennials and their postmodern context. Finally, a strategy for recruiting missionaries from among the millennials in the US Christian \u0026 Missionary Alliance is offered, providing helpful suggestions for local congregations to implement, as well as steps of action for the C\u0026MA to take at the national and district levels. By applying NCD as a diagnostic tool to measure the health of a church, and with the supplement of biblical understanding of church growth and other church health indicators, we would have a balanced view of church development. Twenty participants were evaluated by pre-tests, post-tests, follow-up tests, and my personal interviews. The research examines the difference between accommodation and adaptation, analyzes the extent to which the preacher proclaims the word of God and/or persuades the congregation to respond to the word, and explores the rhetorical strategies of identification and argumentation. The project describes interviews with ten preachers to identify ways they prepare and deliver the sermon in multiple settings from the same text. The object of the project was to meet the course objectives being achieved in face-to-face instruction. The course was taught in the fall of 2001. Student achievement of the objectives was measured through course assignments, as well as a pre- and post-test of student confidence and competence for youth ministry. Students in the online version of the course achieved the course objectives but exhibited a higher non-completion rate. It is the answer to the question, 'Where are we headed as a church?'  The purpose of this Doctor of Ministry project is to learn and apply the skills necessary to impart vision to the church through proclamation.  The setting for this thirteen-week project will be Northwest Arkansas Family Church in Bentonville, Arkansas, where the project leader serves as founding pastor.  During this time, the project leader will conduct an assessment of the congregation's understanding of the church's mission and purpose.  This assessment will be followed by a series of sermons that outline the purpose, mission, and direction of the church.  A corresponding small group Bible study curriculum will be developed which will allow members to dialogue regarding that particular week's sermon. The answer was discovered through organizational research and interviews of leaders within thirteen parachurch organizations. Eight key lessons were identified: (1) The board is responsible for leadership transition. (2) Transition requires a well-articulated vision. (3) Transition must be an ongoing process at all levels of the organization. (4) Transition takes time. (5) The new leader's job description and profile must be developed. (6) The process must be well-defined. (7) Determine the role of the former CEO within the organization. (8) The respective functions of the board and the new CEO must be defined. Culture change can occur over time with theological focus, personal security, and the application of frames thinking. Leaders learned the proposed model of culture change and chose to implement it in their groups. Students were surveyed before and after the project to measure changes in the group's culture. These leaders are confronted by two problems regarding the lack of inclusivity and sensitivity evident in their church's curriculum and training in hermeneutics, which this project will address.  The author intends to write and implement a ten-week curriculum to train African American small group leaders in hermeneutics during a discipleship course entitled, Hermeneutics for Growth Group Leaders. A series of three workshops was presented at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Shelby, Ohio, with the belief that Christian principles of grief assist the griever in the process of mourning.  The author proposed that a relationship to Jesus with both personal and communal aspects will help in the overwhelming task of grief.  By pre and post testing the author measures a baseline of both help received and the knowledge gained about the healthy Christian grief process.
