The New Testament provides not only some principles for establishing and maintaining healthy churches and structures for the missionary work, but it also offers models for collective leadership, empowering leadership and culturally sensitive leadership. At the same time balance could be maintained between the Spirit's leadership and the structures. The author uses the evaluative method. His aim is to identify the factors which are crucial in creating a balance between the Spirit's leadership, and the structures necessary for healthy churches and missions. He applies also phenomenological method. As a conclusion the author asserts that mission organizations and national churches should be more concerned with structures that can affirm and support the unity of different local churches. Lack of such structures brings independent and isolated local congregations that can only contribute to world missions in a limited way. Churches must find a balance between visionary leaders and assisting managers. The main purpose of leadership is to empower people to build up the body of Christ. Because mission work is now understood as being from everywhere to everywhere, culturally intelligent coaching is needed. New sending countries are especially in need of relevant structures, but at the same time, old mission countries have become stagnated without having an attitude of life-long learning. This dissertation demonstrates that it is possible to build clear structures while maintaining the leadership of the Holy Spirit."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132387319480320,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:02:35.070Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:45:05Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:06:01Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"9231973b-a549-49fd-9b78-efc7ca3ce446","accessControl_ssim":["484dd79b-63f1-4571-b2d4-1a781e5d7c8f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Sabbath keeping: a faithful response to our prevailing culture"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:45:05Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:25:01Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ce9865dc-4ec5-417a-8251-1e6121998e7d"],"hasLease_ssim":["93b258d4-07b0-4552-8900-c6b91183084b"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Stanley P Saunders"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Douglas R Gilreath"],"publisher_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Civilization, Modern","Sabbath","Women--Religious life","Rest"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Many of my church members, in particular the young adult females, often feel overwhelmed by the demands of their work, families, and schedules. Second, the project director interviewed church leaders who have helped churches transition from a plateaued church to a growing, vibrant community of believers. Third, the project director studied the demographics of the Harbins community and the statistical data of the Ebenezer Baptist Church to compare the growth of the two entities to discover the effectiveness of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. This resulted in only what alumni could do for Asbury, and not what Asbury could do for alumni. The outcome was low administrative expectations for alumni engagement and overall support of the seminary. This study based alumni engagement initiatives by the seminary on actual alumni desires, understanding alumni not merely as one of several constituencies of the seminary, but as a global metacommunity. The study was based on a biblical and historical framework, together with an understanding of contemporary approaches to alumni development. It utilized an Internet, self-administrated survey to understand the basic relationship between Asbury Seminary and its alumni. By understanding the needs and desires of its alumni, Asbury Seminary can unleash the deep affection that alumni have towards the seminary, providing mutual benefits to both the institution and to alumni themselves."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Asbury Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["6c1e11e8-b66e-47b6-8fe9-6c546c20935c"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134173825597440,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:30:58.815Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":13089,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
