Many existing programs of evangelism emphasize the knowledge and experience of the presenter of the gospel.  The emphasis of this project will be on recognizing and ministering to the needs of the receiver of the gospel message, the international student.  The eleven-session project includes two evaluation sessions and one session on the biblical basis for evangelism among international students.  The remaining nine sessions are designed to train American students to develop personal relationships with internationals.  These relationships should become channels through which the gospel is communicated. Training sessions will include information that will prepare the participants to communicate cross-culturally. Participants will also be trained to develop relationships by ministering in three specific areas.  These areas include physical, relational, and spiritual needs. Romans"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["In this project, a Black pastor has utilized the life of Paul as biblical mentor for her cross-cultural ministry. A six-week Bible study on the epistle to the Romans was employed as a paradigmatic tool (model and story) for change. Dividing the participants into groups patterned after projected Christian locations in first-century Rome, the pastor alternately discussed Paul as a paradigm for herself, and guided the participants in discussing the epistle text. It was based on II Timothy 2:1-2, and the theology and methods of discipling used by Paul, the early church, and John Wesley's early Methodist class meetings. It incorporated learnings from Evangelism Explosion, Walk to Emmaus, and a previous discipling model.  Evaluation indicated that disciple-making contributed to personal growth in evangelism and discipleship. To accomplish this task, open-ended interviews with seven women in the 73-78 year-old range have been conducted: two married, two single, two widowed, and one divorced. Additionally, there have been conversations with the daughters of a second divorced woman who died before the scheduled interview. Through development of a mission statement, recruiting lay involvement in mission, and increasing financial giving to the congregation, the thesis was validated by results. There were also intentional efforts to increase the outreach proportion of spending.  The project uses case study approaches, looking at the efforts carried out within the target congregation. This was a qualitative study using a stratified sample of six Sisters who had been sexually abused as children and had engaged in some form of pastoral counseling regarding this issue.  The results indicated that the convent was not always a safe place, that pastoral counselors have not always addressed the issue of sexual abuse, and that most of the participants have used the process of pastoral psychotherapy to recommit to religious life. The committee was exposed to the Hebrew Scriptures' understanding of the steward as the responsible householder of all creation and the Christian Scriptures' emphasis on Jesus Christ as God's chief steward.  After studying the nature of human identity and transformation, the committee then helped plan a sermon series on stewardship, recruited and conducted a sermon response group, and formulated a fall financial campaign. Although the basic ethos of the Korean people is exulted spirit, they cannot experience this in such worship.  To overcome this problem, a lively worship model, based on research on the theology and history of Christian worship, and on relevant aspects of Korean culture, was developed and utilized for three months in the Masan Bahn-seok Methodist Church. Twenty-six clients of 4 pastoral Gestalt therapists and 26 clients of 5 non-pastoral Gestalt therapists were compared using both quantitative and qualitative methodology.  The findings revealed that clients name God as a significant part of their life.  This naming by the clients indicates that those engaged in Gestalt therapy can articulate having a spiritual awakening and/or religious experience while in therapy.  The naming was more explicit with a pastoral Gestalt therapist.
