The author interviewed fourteen such survivors, male and female, according to an interview schedule designed for breaking silence and raising the issue to public consciousness.  The data reveals that all participants in the project except one were sexually abused in their own childhood homes and most by multiple perpetrators, male and female. A perspective of diagnosis and treatment is presented that is inclusive of the truths of the biological, behavioral, and cognitive modalities, as well as the existential and theological positions.  Each of these theories is surveyed. A case study is presented as a model of the progressive perspective. Toward this end five separate strategies were utilized: an eight-week prayer course for volunteers; three sermons; a restructuring of the Sunday morning worship service to include a stronger emphasis on the pastoral prayer; a restructuring of the Wednesday night prayer service to encourage mutual congregational intercession; and the initiation of a continuing prayer ministry in the church. The social research consists of an experiment utilizing a control group and a study group of ten adults each. An eight-week course for a group of fifteen parents was developed and implemented, covering such topics as communication, discipline, and faith development.  Pretests and posttests were administered to the group members.  The posttest results revealed increases in the awareness of some important factors for parents affected by divorce.  The responses showed especially favorable reactions to the relational aspect of the group. The project was measured by administration of pretest and posttest questionnaires. Informal interviews provided subjective criteria for evaluation. This statement was tested with the use of a questionnaire, given as both a pretest and posttest, during the fall semester.  An effective female ministry was modeled during worship services in the semester, and a small group Bible study was held for four weeks in October. Data was compiled, cross-tabs were run, and the results were analyzed.  Sex was found to be of some significance as a factor in answering the questions. Pretest and posttest surveys and other instruments were used to evaluate the effects of training. Participants increased their understanding of the gospel as narrative and multi-dimensional conversion.
