The project examines the basic issues involved in contextualization and offers a defense for the procedure used.  The writer identifies biblical principles of leadership by examining biblical terminology, teaching passages, and character studies.  Traditional patterns of leadership among Alaskan natives as found in the ethnographic literature is described. A goal of 1.4 million dollars was established.  Two years were allotted to involve as many as possible of Canda's 300 churches and her 50,000 constituents.  The funds would build a church to seat 1,000 people and a Christian education unit.  All remaining funds would be used for on-going evangelistic programs.  This thesis explains the method of fund raising used and serves to model similar future endeavors.  We received 1.1 million dollars towards our goal. The project surveys the terms 'bishop,' 'elder,' 'deacon,' and 'pastor' in the New Testament as well as theological concepts related to ministry, such as calling, ordination, the priesthod of all believers, and authority. A survey of current thinking on team ministry/equipping is included as well as a model of team ministry/equipping for application in a local church.
