The null hypothesis stated that there will be no significant differences in selected personality traits between people who continue in a disciple-making ministry and people who do not.  The method involved administering a biographical data sheet, a twenty-question religiosity survey and the multidimensional personality questionnaire to a sample group of 120 individuals who had been involved in disciple-making ministry.  The mean scores of the sample group were compared with the general population mean scores. Through observation and reflection, participating pastors clarified and defined their perceptions of their churches.  They interpreted their observations through stories, characterizations, reflection upon interviews and the development of metaphors. The project tested a model of pastoral leadership focused upon the roles of 'reflective guide' and 'mission initiator.' Analysis of the pastors' perceptions and definitions of ministry issues confirmed that when identity is clarified, potentials and boundaries are seen more clearly. The enablers led discussions in three discussion/support group sessions.  Ongoing discussion/support group sessions were scheduled. The thirteen week project was implemented in three phases.  The project director assisted the participants in discovering, developing, and using their spiritual gifts in ministry tasks.  Activities included sermons, a retreat, training sessions, and field experience. Evaluation involved a pretest and posttest questionnaire, critical observation, and several interviews by the director. Youth received training in developing ministry skills, mission awareness, and personal evangelism. Church youth groups made commitments to apply the training received to a mission project in their local community. In 1987 six of thirty churches who participated successfully completed projects.  Improvements were made and twelve of nineteen churches successfully conducted local ministry projects in 1988.
