Young Life staff members are trained in how to proclaim the gospel and program activities in terms of discipleship and spiritual formation, yet field staff members have been trained to use a different paradigm that is secularized for fundraising. There is potential for a language shift and corresponding paradigm shift in fundraising training that could guide the Young Life fundraiser to venture into a more familiar and theological concept: community instead of commerce and spiritual formation instead of commodification. The two core research questions that I am addressing in this project are: In what ways does raising support for Young Life connect to the practice of faith? And, how can fundraising be re-conceived in terms of Christian spirituality? Data has been collected from personal interviews, Young Life archives, books written about Young Life, and published reports within the organization. This project aims to discover the fundraising history of Young Life, critically analyze this history, extend a practical spirituality of fundraising while exploring theologies of asking, giving, and receiving, and provide adaptations for current problematic financial models in the organization."],"license_tesim":["https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"related_url_tesim":["https://repository.westernsem.edu/xmlui/handle/1866/9315"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Western Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c24f9e0f-f5f0-45a3-b7f1-6a406c6902fb"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135426378989568,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:50:53.343Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:37:15Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:52:00Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"3e0e0592-b418-43f7-ad0e-421bbfee5ffc","accessControl_ssim":["86fca164-e746-4da3-9e4a-5aaedc73281f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The Gospel : the power of God for salvation mobilizing the church for evangelism to Muslims"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:37:14Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:55:57Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["757846c9-e37a-4c5b-ac95-9f2b6e611b7b"],"hasLease_ssim":["51803b2d-904a-4e66-a366-a93fa1358e89"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Western Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["2018"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Many current Islamic regimes have been destabilized contributing to Muslims experiencing cognitive dissonance, disillusionment and despair. Christians now have the opportunity and urgent commission to witness to Muslims on their block, at their workplace, attending schools with their children, and attending universities. The scale of the upheaval in Islam demands an all-Church emergency mobilization training effort to fast track Church engagement with Muslims.Evangelical leaders that I have worked with my whole ministry career are asking for Biblically faithful training for evangelism and missions. Many existing courses on Islam commend highly contextualized methodologies, dynamic equivalent models, peacemaking and friendship. They do not teach the fundamentals of evangelism, of communicating the Gospel for the conversion of Muslims from Islam to Christianity. The methods of research employed are narrative inquiry in collaborative action research with colleagues having vast experience in missions, evangelism, apologetics and discipling Muslim people. Field notes, roundtable reflection, interviews and Kirkpatrick’s evaluative process collected and gleaned best practices from case studies and from the Engage Course classes that have been offered so far."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Western Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c24f9e0f-f5f0-45a3-b7f1-6a406c6902fb"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135498400432128,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:52:02.028Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:37:15Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:52:19Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"52f4c5dd-1c63-4eb7-b00d-6dc39eaf4b57","accessControl_ssim":["ad79e3e6-b50e-4284-9917-009ac2c42e92"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Ecclesiology and discipleship : rediscovering an effective communal approach"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:37:12Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:33:38Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["f63d4677-9b5d-4d6d-9245-f1ff12138123"],"hasLease_ssim":["044fc65c-9039-463a-91da-a5a8e1fb2fab"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Western Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Alvin Padilla Ph.D."],"year_tesim":["2019"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. These two basic endeavors are what disciples of Jesus should be doing with their lives. We have been transformed, redeemed through the work of Christ on the cross; it begins here with God’s grace and salvation, imparted by the Holy Spirit. Then it must continue by daily taking up our cross and dying to self, or transforming; the life-long process of sanctification. Our church leaders have recognized that it’s not about creating programs, nor one size fits all, but it does involve discovering and rethinking how we can best carry on the work our Lord Jesus commissioned us to be doing."],"license_tesim":["https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"related_url_tesim":["https://repository.westernsem.edu/xmlui/handle/1866/9328"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Western Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c24f9e0f-f5f0-45a3-b7f1-6a406c6902fb"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135518234247168,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:52:20.943Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:36:43Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:36:05Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"5dc0c8f6-6411-48a7-89b1-5d5e381b89c7","accessControl_ssim":["07ac4a0a-8375-4b2b-9a6f-7c42eb42afb4"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A Strategy of Holistic Health for Pastoral Ministry in North American Chinese Churches"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:36:42Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:53:16Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["50666795-64f5-4a95-8635-a92a1005f3a2"],"hasLease_ssim":["76b46e1a-e69e-4044-983d-6d0cd99e5ac8"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Logos Evangelical Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Kuo-Liang Lin Ph.D.","Ekron Chen Ph.D."],"year_tesim":["2022"],"location_tesim":["North America"],"resource_type_tesim":["Dissertation"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Kevin Kai Zhang"],"subject_tesim":["Spiritual formation","Pastoral theology","Pastoral counseling","Spiritual healing"],"language_tesim":["Chinese"],"abstract_tesim":["The Chinese churches in North America have continued to grow and develop in the past thirty years. However, the health of the church has always been a major challenge for its growth. The pastoral ministry of the church is the key to a healthy church: the church cannot be truly healthy unless each of its individuals is. This dissertation explores how the church can integrate the three pastoral approaches of Pastoral Care and Counseling, Inner Healing, and Spiritual Formation to build an effective pastoral ministry. The research of this study is completed through quantitative analysis. The sample comprises of 74 people who are active in pastoral ministries from five Chinese churches across North America. The findings of this research suggest that the integrated use of Pastoral Care and Counseling, Inner Healing, and Spiritual Formation effectively helps believers to solve problems of body, mind, and spirit at all levels. Finally, Holistic Health: Pastoral Training Manual is designed to equip congregations to help people in need through the integrated approach in pastoral ministry."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Logos Evangelical Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["54e7729a-4915-469f-8fd5-c7bb7ccd6c20"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134498093531136,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:36:08.061Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:36:43Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:55:00Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d6e5e126-bcb1-4172-a896-546e797178ff","accessControl_ssim":["b301fba7-b1af-471f-9026-2e199b370e6c"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Sudden illness and storytelling : identifying spiritual resilience in a liminal space : a phenomenological and narrative research project"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:36:42Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:16:27Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["5f78cc54-c4b0-47c8-afc4-588c7eb764b8"],"hasLease_ssim":["b90dc23d-d3dc-4663-9a38-c5aba2609514"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Western Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Chuck DeGroat Ph.D."],"year_tesim":["2021"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. I came into this project with three assumptions: the key to preparing our young people for the future lies in identity formation; the identity that will sustain them in the unknown is the one given to them in Baptism; and the best opportunity for churches to shape and nurture this identity is through the ongoing, life-long experience of congregational worship. Thus, this project questions how identity is shaped, what identity the young people of our congregations are currently being shaped in, what the content of Baptismal Identity is, and how congregations can best shape and nurture that identity through congregational worship. Identity, the project finds, is shaped as practices and liturgies of the various cultures in which we live, work, learn, play, and worship inform our understanding of who we are, who our people are, and what our hope and purpose are. The project investigates the various cultures in which our young people dwell and the faith our churches are largely teaching them; and then claims that the identity these cultures and faith instruction are shaping and nurturing in our young people will not sustain them in the unknown challenges of the future. Following a broad study of Biblical covenant history, creation in the imago dei, new creation in Christ, the covenant family of God, and the call to live out God’s relational purposes and redemptive plan; I propose a definition of the identity our young people receive in the waters of baptism which will provide the solid ground on which they will need to walk in the unknown future."],"license_tesim":["https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"related_url_tesim":["https://repository.westernsem.edu/xmlui/handle/1866/9317"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Western Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c24f9e0f-f5f0-45a3-b7f1-6a406c6902fb"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135714948153344,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:55:28.544Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:36:42Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:20:36Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"5b0c300f-6835-4f54-b879-7a8ecb7f6fb4","accessControl_ssim":["0adccb25-7793-484b-886b-a2893c1630a9"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Journeying Home: A Study of Christian Spiritual Formation Through the Interface of the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and Lectio Divina"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:36:38Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:48:34Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["4e462e37-7a1c-4b32-a32e-c2acba8b14c8"],"hasLease_ssim":["c8348867-7e94-4e39-bdbe-3658d2831ca5"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"discipline_tesim":["Spiritual Formation"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Tyndale University"],"advisor_tesim":["Ouida Pihulyk D.Min."],"year_tesim":["2022"],"location_tesim":["Canada"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. After decades of longing to belong, God led me first to the halls of 12 Step programs, then to Seminary where I discovered, spiritual formation, Lectio Divina and spiritual direction. In contemplating a model of spiritual formation, the interface of these two experiences came to life in the linkage of the final three steps of A. A. which I characterize as Confess (Step 10), Abide (Step 11), and Give (Step 12).The research observed the spiritual maturation of lay people at various stages of their journey of becoming more like Christ. The project was designed to build a community of trust within a small group who met for seven weeks to practice Lectio Divina. I used the narrative inquiry research method with favorable results. Some participants self-identified both as having a deeper sense of the presence of God and experiencing a change in their approach to daily life while others either experienced movement in one of the dimensions or no movement at all. My conclusion is that, for some, the practice of Lectio Divina can effectuate deeper spiritual formation."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Tyndale University"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["602e7e7c-0b8b-4e09-af87-84c66ff49c48"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133524093304832,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:20:39.182Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:36:13Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:54:30Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"bf1e3165-f6e5-4be7-885e-9d9631d76e49","accessControl_ssim":["75951bf7-0a1e-47ba-96e9-20cc77433b61"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Unplugging to connect : reimagining Christian identity formation in the digital age"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:36:12Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:38:06Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["40f0decd-acb8-41f0-9699-733c14889b6b"],"hasLease_ssim":["f64edf5e-01b0-452d-a10e-25958e6c6d34"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Western Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Chuck DeGroat Ph.D."],"year_tesim":["2021"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. With their myriad uses, screens have found a permanent place in our lives. We reap many benefits from our screens, but thoughtful observers cannot help but wonder, “Are screens delivering on their promised purpose in our lives?” There is good reason to consider thoughtfully how we use them. Overstimulation and constant connection are taking a toll on our souls. We have seen a significant decline in mental health since the invention of the smartphone. Overuse of screens, especially social media, leads to lower levels of happiness and higher levels of anxiety. We do well to be intentional about how we use screens and to implement practices that will mitigate their negative effects. This paper explores the shadow side of screen use. It also looks into relevant Christian practices that help develop one’s identity as a beloved child of God. My project invited families into a six-week experience with imaginative prayer. While my focus is on kids and screens, I believe this project offers something for everyone who wants to be released from screen’s grip into glorious freedom as beloved children of God."],"license_tesim":["https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"related_url_tesim":["https://repository.westernsem.edu/xmlui/handle/1866/9340"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Western Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c24f9e0f-f5f0-45a3-b7f1-6a406c6902fb"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135655412105216,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:54:31.765Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:36:12Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:55:39Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"472080fc-9aeb-4966-b432-e56c1ff77a1c","accessControl_ssim":["d473b0f0-3303-441a-83fc-0922709e1a35"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Equipping Leaders at Hope Fellowship Church in Frisco, Texas, to Assess and Facilitate Ongoing Spiritual Development"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:36:11Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:12:41Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["f4d1aa02-8908-4a0e-abbb-0fc795b963e4"],"hasLease_ssim":["77dc89b8-d3b1-47a4-9be5-47ea0c5ff993"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"discipline_tesim":["Christian Formation and Discipleship"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Coleman Ford Ph.D."],"year_tesim":["2022"],"location_tesim":["United States"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. This project sought to equip leaders at Hope Fellowship Church in Frisco, Texas, in concepts of such relational discipleship. Chapter 1 includes the context, rationale, purpose, goals, research methodology, and definition and delimitations for the project. Chapter 2 covers the biblical and theological foundation for equipping church leaders to assess and facilitate the ongoing spiritual development of themselves and others. Chapter 3 looks at discipleship and how equipping disciple-makers requires cultivating Christ-like character, applying theological foundations, and implementing comprehensive biblical methodology, specifically through the lens of Scripture being authoritative. Chapter 4 details the implementation of the research project, including a week-by-week description of development. Chapter 5 is an overall evaluation of the project. The purpose, goals, process, and project strengths and weaknesses are evaluated. Student feedback, personal and theological reflections, and details of project modifications are included.
