This project studies the factors involved in the healing process of victims of spiritual abuse as well as ideas from systems theory as to what factors contribute to an abusive, toxic church. The author uses a qualitative research approach and utilizes the tools of a questionnaire and interviews with nine victims of spiritual abuse in Southern Baptist churches. The book of consolation in Isaiah is used as a biblical base for understanding a theology of hope and healing from oppressive circumstances. One outcome of this study is a change model entitled 'The process of healing from spiritual abuse' which involves the phases of oppression, transition, and restoration. The study concludes that resiliency is the outcome of healing. The thesis is about developing Mandarin ministry in the Chinese Alliance Churches of Australia. It is to plant a mandarin speaking congregation in a Chinese church using the resources from both Cantonese congregations and second-generation English congregation. Using interviews with churches that have existing Mandarin ministry with mainland Chinese, the author researched and examined the contributing factors to an effective strategy to develop Mandarin ministry. After interviewing ten Asian American churches in the northeastern United States in regards to their discipleship processes, and reviewing selected literature on discipleship, a process was developed. Churches in the United States often struggle to effectively equip believers with a strong foundation in the Word of God and to multiply by making disciples. The lack of relationships within the church body that encourage and guide spiritual formation, and discipleship that does not integrate transparent relationships, mutual accountability, and biblical truth, are part of the cause. He will also work up a model for church development to submit to the China Assemblies of God Council. In this dissertation the writer, through the lens of the developing history of the Pentecostal faith, faces the possibility of the American Assemblies of God pulling out its missionaries from Taiwan and considers that situation in light of the lack of enough Taiwanese ministers. The question to be asked is: what should the China Assemblies of God in Taiwan do to continue their evangelical ministry in the 21st century, this era of booming information? The trend of future ministry development for the churches and organizations which belong to the China Assemblies of God is also discussed. The 'church ministry' of the China Assemvlies of God is the primary aim to writer's reasearch. Matthew"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This thesis is an exploratory study, examining the role of the Mennonite Brethren denominational leader in guiding congregational conflict resolution. This thesis project is designed and organized around bibliographic research, historical analysis, and descriptive research. A biblical foundation is laid, with particular attention given to an exposition of Matthew 18. An overview of church conflict is presented with a focus on an Anabaptist theological perspective. A brief historical analysis of the Mennonite Brethren movement provides the denominational context. The conbination of a low view of man and a high view of God was critical in both the establishment of the early church under Augustine and the the later renewal of American Puritan culture under Edwards. The high view of God is seen in the writings of both scholars, and implications of this theme are seen in Puritan culture and the writings of Jonathan Edwards.
