In May 2010, the congregation took the Gallup ME25 survey. Case studies were conducted on churches that had made similar efforts. A resurvey in November 2011 occurred following efforts to focus on people's strengths. Meaningful increases were found on multiple items with many increased responses. Overall engagement of the congregation increased, while not-engaged and actively disengaged percentages decreased. The objective is to provide a systematic strategy for restoring a declining, dysfunctional and stalled church to a growing, healthy and vibrant congregation. The field research involved case studies. Though every case study was unique, every church was found to have utilized seven turnaround factors in its revitalization. The desperation and urgency of the church resulted in a more immediate and less difficult turnaround process. A qualitative study was conducted using grounded theory. Interviews with church planting experts, church planters, and an online survey were the primary data sources. The online survey helped triangulate the data and provided a quantitative element to the research. This research found that relational connectedness was critical to people hearing, connecting, and staying in a new church. The focus was on initiating and developing pastor support groups, as well as training and implementing a peer coaching network among pastors which seemed to be the best strategy for building biblical community. To prepare for the project I researched appropriate literature and established four pastor support groups that met for six months. Fifteen pastors were in the initial pastor support groups.  In addition, I enlisted six pastors to be trained as mentor coaches from which to launch a peer coaching network which now has eighteen ministers engaged. All the pastor support groups have chosen to continue meeting over the next six months. This thesis examined specific issues dealing with the use of telemental health in pastoral counseling. From this research two conclusions can be drawn. The forty-two Minnesota town and country churches in the study group are technologically ready for telemental health; however, the human aspect of using telemental health is lagging behind the technology. Socio-cultural misunderstanding hampers relational harmony and ministry effectiveness in affected churches. In response to this problem, the researcher surveyed rurban leaders in three geographic regions of the United States, identified the major recurrent components of the rurban collision, and made recommendations to church leaders concerning how to effectively lead in the presence of rurban socio-cultural tension.
