The data from one hundred clergy and lay leaders reveals that both clergy and lay participate fully in three primary functions of ministry.  Priest's tend to emphasize the ordering and meaning giving functions, while laity emphasize the serving function.  Clergy exercise leadership in the ministries of worship, education, and pastoral care.  Laity lead in the ministries of stewardship, evangelism, and service. My goal is to lead a small group of six adults to a greater awareness and understanding of the spiritual, physical, relational, and intellectual interrelation of life, and to lead them to begin to take concrete actions toward enrichment in these four areas. The group participants wrote and shared their life histories. From these personal narratives we discovered a common dramaturgical pattern within our congregation. The project was developed through a series of eight two-hour sessions which were designed to provide lay counselors with insight, information, and techniques from theology, psychology, and sociology.  To determine the effectiveness of such a program several methods of evaluation were used, including a pretest and posttest which were evaluated by a two-tailed t-test for correlated groups.
