There were three main steps in reaching this goal: the exegesis of biblical principles to find the model of Jesus' incarnational ministry, the exegesis of the Thai Buddhist context, and the development of a Thai contextualized model for building an effective ministry. The findings from field studies supported the library research about the belief system of the Thai Buddhist students and their value orientations. A questionnaire distributed to these chaplains recorded the effectiveness of the self-care program upon their emotional, behavioral, and spiritual resiliency. The project revealed that the self-care program had a positive effect on their behavior and emotional resiliency, and some impact on their spiritual resiliency. A qualitative phenomenological research design was employed. The author utilized an interview protocol based on identified stressors cited in previous research. Seven major stressors were noted by participants with safety concerns, absence of field-specific training, and cross-cultural conflict being the most prominent. Three categories of stressors emerged: individual stress, cross-cultural stress, and professional stress. The study determined that there has been a decline with multiple mitigating factors. This project sought to increase the effectiveness of teaching and preaching Hebrew narratives in the local church via a five week seminar to equip participants in discovering the central thrust of Old Testament narratives. Goals and objectives were established, relevant data gathered, analyzed from volunteers. An analysis of the data revealed notable improvements in the participants' overall effectiveness in teaching narrative. The program was evaluated on the basis of three identifying marks of discipleship set forth in the gospel of John: abiding in Jesus' word, loving one another, and bearing fruit. An evaluation team was formed from church leadership to survey Sunday school participants to determine the program's effectiveness in terms of the above three distinctives. This gap revealed a lack of confidence arising from an inadequate understanding of the depths of connections between baptism and healing. Through a sermon series, a focus group Bible study, and questionnaires, the project sought to discover biblical and theological correspondence with the denomination's position. The key conclusion of the research was that with some exception there was among the congregation congruence with the denomination's doctrinal statement on a vital teaching that seems unpopular or unwelcome in the current climate of 'felt-needs' ministry.
