Biblical and social science literature was examined, five victim qualitative research interviews were completed, and grounded theory methodology was utilized. Learning focused on betrayal harmartiology, definitions, theories, attributional typology, and psychometric assessment need. The researcher's emergent theory is that the journey to healing comprises the stages of 'exile,' 'sojourn,' and 'new promised land;' and victims employed metaphors as progress indicators. When caregivers assist the betrayed to reframe, new metaphors are acquired, grace is experienced, hope is discovered, and the broken encountered God's redemptive and renewed focus on church planting in North America. This project examines one of the ways to increase effectiveness in church planting through the development and execution of a church-based church planting residency program. It examines the assessment, training, and support provided to church planters through case studies of two different types of church planting residency programs. These case studies outline the assessment and recruitment strategies, and then examines their training and equipping models. Finally, it describes how these planters are supported after completing their residency. The goal of this study is to assist Ambassador Church in developing a church-based church planting residency program. Having used the quantitative and pro-active research methods, the writer established a fitness program in which participants committed to exercising at least three times a week for a minimum of thirty minutes per workout session. The hypothesis is that if persons could participate in a collaborative affordable housing pre-readiness program, eligibility for housing opportunities would improve and the church would become more effective in its mission to empower the community. A qualitative and quantitative research methodology was used with the congregation, community residents and community leaders to identify and measure barriers. The interviews, workshops, classes and forums addressed the issues that hindered eligibility with community agencies. The project focus was to develop a collaborative model on how to educate the community on the illnesses and symptoms associated with homelessness when internal church conflicts erupt. The mixed methodology was used to obtain the results through pre-test, post-test, questionnaires, personal interviews, and a focus group. The findings suggested that most participants did respond to being educated on the illnesses associated with homelessness. The team approach within the caring community seems to fit this need. The 'team' will be an interdisciplinary team whose goal is to provide a more effective pastoral care. As an ordained clergy in the United Methodist Church, one of my biggest frustrations has always been that the 'job' is bigger than one individual can successfully accomplish. The old adage 'two heads are better than one' rings true to me for Christian ministry. Through the years, many have felt that the laity understands pastoral care as the sole duty of the paid clergy. The scriptures clearly show that Jesus did not understand ministry as an individual endeavor, but as a team approach as he sent his disciples out to minister in pairs. Also, Jesus said, 'When two or more are gathered in my name, I am in the midst of them.' This is an expression of community gathering in Christ's name and ministering not alone, but with Christ in their midst.
