A resultant question is raised: if the early church did express a messianic self-awareness, how should the contemporary church be influenced by the idea of an 'annointed' or messianic ministry in terms of preaching and community?  The method of study is to become conversant with the messianic antecedents found in the Old Testament and late Judaism. Attention is then turned to Jesus and the Synoptics as both re-interpreting the emerging messianic ideas.  Messianic preaching today incorporates both speaker and hearer into the messianic continuum. This genre revealed dramatic limitations which led to the writing of a seventh, much longer drama which added a narrator and bit parts. The works of Frederiick Buechner provided perspective, commentary, and a medium of exchange between the biblical world and the world of contemporary listeners. This has affected badly the care of the aged.  Based on empirical investigation and the theological-pastoral proposition, the church must have a ministry to the aged. The project argues that a school for the aged can be an important part of the ministry to the aged. This paper applies hermeneutics to the parish using the context of the Kerygma Bible Study program.  Extensive hermeneutical research was done, especially emphasizing the writings of James A Sanders.  Liberation and feminist hermeneutics also were discussed.
